For those of us who are recent grads, what does the timeline look like for interview invitations from judges who generally stick to the plan? Just sorta whenever lightning strikes? In the days after the Tuesday plan rush?

Obviously judges are idiosyncratic and all but AFAIK, most of the judges who stick to the plan only really do so for 2Ls and hire 3Ls and post-grad off plan.

It seems to depend. If you applied soon before the plan opened, it seems like the judges abstained from interviewing until they got a look at the on-plan applications and decided they're still interested. I (recent grad) applied to several judges in May and got interview offers from on-plan judges this week, even though they could obviously see my application the moment I submitted. It's a weird time of year to be applying to clerk.

Not specifically but in general these judges don’t hire one year at a time, class year depends a lot on how clerks’ COA clerkships line up
