Anybody heard anything from the Mass. SJC? Or a sense of what their interview/hiring timeline is like? I know I'm just a lowly state court plebe, but any info would be much appreciated!

Any update on the DDC judges whose positions remain open on OSCAR? As of today that is Judge Friedrich, Judge Kelly, Judge Moss, and Judge Nichols. Thanks in advance.

Kelly has hired at least one for '22 as of almost a month ago. He is very likely done for '22, but he has tended to move a little more slowly than some others in the past so it is possible he still has a slot.

Any tea on where Richard Sullivan's at in hiring? I would've thought he would be done by now, but the update he posted earlier this week implied he still has openings (and perhaps is still actively seeking apps) for February 2021, February 2022, and August 2022.

Are calls like this normal for all applicants? Or is a call a potential sign that you’re likely to get an interview?

OP here: I have two friends who sent in paper apps to Trenga in the last ~2 months or so and who did not get calls. I'm guessing they're just calling people they're serious about to reconfirm interest before making decisions about interviews.

If we're applying to the Alaska State Supremes, how are people differentiating between the judges? I'd imagine the Governor:President analogy in terms of partisanship doesn't apply as much?

Quite selective: top 25% to top 40% from CLS/NYU. It would be hard to swing COA from MJ, but you could if you were already qualified for COA. (It's rare, but not unusual, to see Kent CLS or magna NYU clerking for a MJ.) Generally, solid stepping stone for both New York district courts and New York Court of Appeals.

I can confirm there is a CLS RBG Prize Winner who is clerking for a SDNY magistrate judge - they are quite competitive.

All I know is my career services office (HYSCCN) sent an email separate from the OSCAR posting that made it look like he is actively soliciting applications from schools he likes to hire from. Seems like maybe it was a last-minute cancellation.
