Anybody heard anything from the Mass. SJC? Or a sense of what their interview/hiring timeline is like? I know I'm just a lowly state court plebe, but any info would be much appreciated!

Kelly has hired at least one for '22 as of almost a month ago. He is very likely done for '22, but he has tended to move a little more slowly than some others in the past so it is possible he still has a slot.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 7:33 pmAny update on the DDC judges whose positions remain open on OSCAR? As of today that is Judge Friedrich, Judge Kelly, Judge Moss, and Judge Nichols. Thanks in advance.

Any tea on where Richard Sullivan's at in hiring? I would've thought he would be done by now, but the update he posted earlier this week implied he still has openings (and perhaps is still actively seeking apps) for February 2021, February 2022, and August 2022.

Clerks for Trenga (EDVA) are calling people to verify if people are still interested in the position(s). I'm assuming interview invites will go out soon.

I wasn't even aware he was hiring for CADC yet. Did people just apply through his WD KY posting?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 3:53 pmAnybody heard of offers from Judge Walker (CADC) for '22?

Are calls like this normal for all applicants? Or is a call a potential sign that you’re likely to get an interview?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 5:19 pmClerks for Trenga (EDVA) are calling people to verify if people are still interested in the position(s). considering this, but if calls asking for interest are going out what are the chances one's paper app gets there in timeAnonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 6:16 pmSooooo this would be a good or a bad time to sneak an app to him?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 5:19 pmClerks for Trenga (EDVA) are calling people to verify if people are still interested in the position(s). Also got one of these calls, to add a data point. My (optimistic) guess is they're deciding which ones to forward to the judge?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 5:19 pmClerks for Trenga (EDVA) are calling people to verify if people are still interested in the position(s). Anybody know anything about SDNY Mag. clerkships? Competitiveness, value as a stepping stone to D.Ct. SSC, COA? Specifically Judge Lehrburger?

OP here: I have two friends who sent in paper apps to Trenga in the last ~2 months or so and who did not get calls. I'm guessing they're just calling people they're serious about to reconfirm interest before making decisions about interviews.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 8:12 pmAlso got one of these calls, to add a data point. If we're applying to the Alaska State Supremes, how are people differentiating between the judges? I'd imagine the Governor:President analogy in terms of partisanship doesn't apply as much?

Re: 2021-2022 Clerkship Application Thread
Quite selective: top 25% to top 40% from CLS/NYU. It would be hard to swing COA from MJ, but you could if you were already qualified for COA. (It's rare, but not unusual, to see Kent CLS or magna NYU clerking for a MJ.) Generally, solid stepping stone for both New York district courts and New York Court of Appeals.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 4:30 pmAnybody know anything about SDNY Mag. clerkships? I can confirm there is a CLS RBG Prize Winner who is clerking for a SDNY magistrate judge - they are quite competitive.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2020 5:29 pmThanks for this -- really helpful. All I know is my career services office (HYSCCN) sent an email separate from the OSCAR posting that made it look like he is actively soliciting applications from schools he likes to hire from. Seems like maybe it was a last-minute cancellation.
