If a judge's application 1) changes from "expired" to "available," or 2) a judge reposts their opening so it's at the top when you filter by date, is it fair to assume the judge is actively hoping for more people to apply? Or could situation 1 ever be attributable to some weird Oscar quirk?

I also wonder what you're supposed to read into (2). I've seen it a couple of times and I have no idea what it means.

I would think at the very least it means they haven't completed hiring/interviewing. Otherwise that'd be cruel.

I would think at the very least it means they haven't completed hiring/interviewing. Otherwise that'd be cruel.

I think some may reopen the position to allow for updates via OSCAR. A lot of things probably at play.

has anybody who applied this year vs last year noticed any difference as to how judges are hiring...at least in terms of their timetables? I know judges hire years in advance, but are any judges informing applicants that their starting dates might be moving targets rather than firm set dates?

Rejection letters in the past day or so from McConnell (D.R.I.), Mendoza (E.D. Wash.), and Richardson (M.D. Tenn., for both 2021 and 2022).

He has been extending interviews over the last few weeks. I turned my invitation down a few weeks ago and am aware of others getting an interview invitation thereafter. I don't know if he's filled the position yet.
