Honestly, it really does just vary by the judge. Some interview on a rolling basis, some hold onto applications for a while and then interview. Personally, my interviews came very quickly after the application was submitted, like 2-3 days (but that's a reeeeally small sample). No one is going to be able to give you a better answer unless you name the judge and someone happens to know how that judge hires.

I submitted some applications for 2015-16 back in early February and got a call asking for an interview last week. So yeah...it varies.

Agree. It also depends on what else the judge has going on. If it's a busy week for the judge they might not look at applications that week, etc.

How common is it to be told or ask how many are being interviewed?

Usually when inquiring when you should expect to hear back they'll say something about it. I've known the exact number for each of my interviews (and the number has always been between 5 and 7, though one of the judges who interviewed 5 invited 8, but 3 had already accepted by the time he invited folks).

Anyone want to disclose which judges have been interviewing this week or last?

Dead silence here.

Has anybody heard whispers from Judge Greenaway (CA3)? I know he's hired some already but no clue whether he's full.

Tymkovich & Sykes each hired at least one person for 2016 back in early September.

See stuff like this is frustrating. Update OSCAR and tell us whether you still have spots or not.

Got an email from Rogers (6th Cir.) from a clerkship email account saying that he would be conducting interviews for 2016-17 in June.

I wonder if he sends these to everyone who applies?

Tymkovich has done some hiring, but not sure if he's done yet. I think most 10th Circuit judges are still interviewing for 2016-2017.

do judges send out confirmation emails? I can't figure out if these emails are signs of interest or just generic emails that go to every applicant.

Some judges do; some don't. I wouldn't read too much into whether or not you get a generic confirmation e-mail.

There is a petition on WhiteHouse.gov requesting that federal clerks be allowed to buy in to the federal retirement system (just like other full-time federal employees). mod edit: SPAM

probs depends what u mean by early next semester... my school doesn't even release grades until early to mid february, and i'm pretty sure that is common throughout the T14s. but presumably things will start moving a little more once ppl have 3 semesters

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
