Glad to be here. There's a strong chance I'll be attending because of the in-state tutition. You definitely going Magp90?

Same! I'd say there's a 95% chance that I'm going. It's my top choice from both academic and employment standpoints, so I'm waiting to see what they do financially.banana$$stand wrote:Glad to be here. I have a full ride to Drexel, and I still have to hear back from Villanova... but I think the program at Temple is worth it letting them go in the long run-- even if I have to pay full in-state tuition. But we'll see! Good luck with your decisions!

So... apparently Temple has great tuition and employment prospects in Philly. Can anyone comment on this?

Re: Temple U - Beasley School of Law c/o 2016/2017
I work at a law firm in Philly and most of them are Temple grads. Even the ones who aren't alums confidently say that it is the second best school in Philly, second to Penn of course. They have a very active and strong alumni network, and they also provide a more practical and hands-on education than some other law schools in the area. The tuition is better than most places, but it's REALLY a steal if you're an in-state student, because you end up paying less than 20 grand per year.Manhattanman wrote:So... apparently Temple has great tuition and employment prospects in Philly. I should probably qualify all this by saying that the employment benefits really only seem to come if you do well and/or are LR. Employment is never a guarantee these days, but if you make the right connections early on and back it up academically, you're definitely well-positioned in Philadelphia.

Thanks for this. I haven't applied, but I think I will soon. Accepted to a top 30 but I think the job prospects are about the same. And Temple has much better tuition. Also more likely to get a scholarship there. Congrats to all the admits, didn't mean to jack your thread.

Have not received anything after the initial admission email. Hoping to get the snail mail packet this week. Scholly info would be a nice bonus too

This might be a little early but is there a facebook group for the incoming class?
I would like to get a jump on housing

I just searched for it, and there doesn't seem to be one. Perhaps enough people haven't made a decision yet, but you should go ahead and make one! Post the link if you do!banana$$stand wrote:This might be a little early but is there a facebook group for the incoming class?

I think Temple's Admin is the one in charge of creating a group for us. Correct me if i'm wrong!

Hello, everyone! I was accepted to the evening program today! I will most likely be attending Temple (unless they don't give me any money). Is anyone else planning on going part-time?

Yep! With a wife and two kids, can't afford to give up my day job.scaredredpanda wrote:Hello, everyone! I was accepted to the evening program today! I will most likely be attending Temple (unless they don't give me any money). Is anyone else planning on going part-time?

Also got my acceptance today. Now to find out if work will adjust my hours/let me work from home so I can actually attend...
Congrats!

Got the Law Faculty Scholarship. Definitely hoping to negotiate given my other offers... especially since Temple is my top choice. Fingers crossed!

Well, my employer has officially agreed to let me work from home and slightly adjust my hours, so I'll be sending my acceptance shortly! I'm another evening divisioner (or do they call us Night Owls?).
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
