I had no problem. They're really good about it as long as you have a decent reason. Why are you applying for a deferral?hannahk wrote:Hey! This is a question for those who deferred - I am debating applying for a deferral of one year and was reading through the materials in the admit packet last night. The process doesn't seem to be too complicated but I'm nervous about my explanation/request letter. Did anyone have trouble getting their deferral approved? Thanks!
If I enroll for 2013, I will have been out for 2 years. If you had asked me 2 years ago, that would have been just the right amount of time (or too much!). Of course, I'm getting completely psyched for law school and really miss being in school in general. However, I have a really really intense job (I work at a civil rights law firm) and haven't been able to travel at all the past year and a half or even stop for a moment. In fact, I'll be working right through August. Plus - I want to end up working in the Bay Area where I'm originally from and have completely lost my former fluency in Spanish. Ideally, I'll spend a year doing language immersion in Latin America (Woof'ing, backpacking, and working) and throw in some travel. Does that seem crazy? I figure I can satisfy my wanderlust and regain a language that I'll definitely need down the line...brownpride wrote:I had no problem. That seems totally legitimate. So long as you explain this well in a letter, they'll be just fine with it I'd imagine.hannahk wrote:If I enroll for 2013, I will have been out for 2 years. There's also an "In at Harvard Thread" and a "Class of 2016 Applicants" thread. Are you thinking of those?az21833 wrote:is this the official hls class of 2016 thread? i thought i saw another one
I made this thread in Sept to be the official one, but the "In at Harvard" one ended up being more active. That, and the Facebook page.Mr. Elshal wrote:There's also an "In at Harvard Thread" and a "Class of 2016 Applicants" thread.
