I, however, will not be getting any of those listed. I find it hard to believe you need a $1300-$1600 laptop to succeed in law school.
Dell/Apple must be paying UVA quite a bit to shill for them.
I think I'm gonna forego the UVA options and just build my own on HP/Dell...or stick with my current one and get an ultrabook.

I think that they are managed by Real Property, and their number is (434)-971-1600. (I got that number from a sign in front of the complex)LAnative wrote:Does anybody know where I could find the number/website to the office of the Arlington apartments right across the street from the new Pavilion?

If I remember correctly, they only have 2-bedroom places still available.

Re: UVA Class of 2016
I think the Arlington ct apartments vary as to who owns them. Some are called "Arlington ct Condos" and some are called apartments. I think the ones that are referred to as condos are privately owned and the apartments are managed by companies in bunches. For example, I had two properties I wanted to check out, a "condo" and an apartment. It turned out they were in the same complex, with the condo being privately owned (and nasty) and the apartment managed by real property. When I went in and asked if dogs were allowed, I was told no. I later found out that the apartments above me were owned by another company so they couldn't speak to the possibility of an upstairs neighbor having a dog.Legal_Padawan wrote:I think that they are managed by Real Property, and their number is (434)-971-1600. So basically it's a patchwork quilt of owners. They are spitting distance to the law school and gym and had a big patio (bonussss) but effectively no kitchen ( ). $750/month. I was told I nabbed the last 1bd but that was awhile ago and more could have opened up as schools are accepting of their WLs. Check Craigslist for the privately owned ones, and actually real property posts their open ones on there as well.

Re: UVA Class of 2016
In my place, and I assume the others, you walk in the front door straight into the living room. One half of the right wall is a "kitchen". This consists of a mini stove (it's like a regular four burner that was compressed in a vice. On the upside, it's gas.), three cabinets and a foot and a half of counter space. No dishwasher so there will likely be a drying rack on the counter. As someone who generally cooks in all her spare time I don't know if my stress related marathon cooking sessions will be possible here. I guess a positive for my neighbors will be that I will hopefully set the fire alarms off less frequently than I have in the past during my quest for the perfect pizza crust.danitt wrote:Whaaaaaat?Eichörnchen wrote: I think the Arlington ct apartments vary as to who owns them. My lease starts June 1 as well. I'm sorry if this has been asked--I wasn't able to find an answer. Can someone give me an estimate of what utilities plus cable/internet would cost for each person for a two bedroom at ivy?

You'd probably be better off asking in the "Ask a Law Student" thread.RSterling wrote:I'm sorry if this has been asked--I wasn't able to find an answer. Can someone give me an estimate of what utilities plus cable/internet would cost for each person for a two bedroom at ivy?

Re: UVA Class of 2016
Hello all! I was accepted off the waitlist, visited, and decided that C'ville was where I was going to spend the next 3 years of my life. Now I'm looking for apartments. I just wanted to check here and see if anyone was still looking for a roommate. I'm female, a non-smoker, and I don't have any pets and/or aversion to pets. PM me if you are interested.

Re: UVA Class of 2016
Hey everyone. There's a very good chance I won't be attending UVA in the fall. I have a one bedroom apartment with parking and a large patio that's about a 3 minute walk to school (and is located right by grocery stores/restaurants/bank). $750 a month. Though nothing is 100% certain yet, I thought I'd check to see if there's anyone who was interested.
FYI I'm depressed to let this place go, so I am tryin to figure out how to teleport it to my potentially new location. If this works, deal's off and I'm keeping it.

^^^^ What this person said. I also have a 3BR at the Pavilion! Looking for a female non-smoker to replace. Message me for the deets!
(Also, for those interested, if you sign the lease within the "next few weeks," your $200 admin fee will be waived. Not to put pressure on the situation, but just wanted to let you know to save you some paperrrr!)

Anyone who needs a male to fill a place anywhere near the school this late in the game, please send me a message. I'll pay my share and I won't be any trouble. Thanks.

Hey everyone. Was wondering what you guys were considering for laptops? I am most definitely not going with the UVA suggestions, wayyy overpriced. I am done with my Apple fangirl days and want to switch to a PC. Thinking about an Asus or Lenovo.
What are you guys thinking? I know there are plenty of other threads on TLS about laptops but would love to hear from UVA people.
PS Sorry for quote disaster :/
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
