Anyone looking for a kitchen/dining room table during law school? I bought one for $400 during 1L. It has 4 chairs and a bench. It's in decent condition. Selling for $140. PM me if you want it. I won't have space for it in my new place.

Hey guys, I'm booking my flight to Charlottesville. The dates I got are August 13th to Wednesday, November 27th. Thanksgiving break starts on the 27th of November. Do these dates sound good or am I missing something?

You'll need to fly back to Cville after Thanksgiving for the rest of 1L fall/exams...LAnative wrote:Hey guys, I'm booking my flight to Charlottesville. Also, a good amount of 1L's don't go back home for Thanksgiving break and stay to study instead. Different strokes, but something for everyone else to think about.

Re: UVA Class of 2016
setting this up to be round trip from the start is a little weird to me. if you're trying to do it that way, you might note that there's a fall break from 10/14-10/16 (m-w, so really 12th through 16th).

yeah, flying out to LA seems like a lot of travel hassle when you should be grinding out studying, but people did it and made it work, so who am i to say you shouldn'tdesertlaw wrote:You'll need to fly back to Cville after Thanksgiving for the rest of 1L fall/exams...LAnative wrote:Hey guys, I'm booking my flight to Charlottesville. it's a little easier to get away with if you have two weeks between thanksgiving and the start of exams. looks like fall 2013 has only one week (i.e. after thanksgiving you have only 3 more days of class, then 4 days of study period, then exams start). it's a quick turnaround.

i was poking around the pavilion tonight. there's no doubt it is going to be really nice
they will have to hustle to finish, though. none of the apartments on the first floor are done, from what i could tell.

I'm tired of having to cross the street twice to go to Harris Teeter. They need to hurry up.5ky wrote:i was poking around the pavilion tonight. there's no doubt it is going to be really nice

Personally, I love barracks. CVS and Harris Teeter are open 24/7, which is incredibly convenient.
Also, it has pretty much everything you could need in terms of all the move-in stuff. But, ye be warned, apparently it gets crazy when all the undergrads start to move in, so get here ASAP if you want to avoid the chaos.

Re: UVA Class of 2016
If anyone is still looking for housing PM me for more details.
Location: Arlington Townhouses - 5-10 min. walk from the law school and 5 min. walk from the Barracks shopping center.
Rent/utilities/internet, TV: roughly 715$ a month (Split)
Roommate will be a 2L, quiet male. He also has all of my 1L books and outlines so feel free to help yourself to them.

Can't say I'm thrilled about this SSN mess, especially since I'm apparently on the list. Anyone else get the bad news?

Lol of course, just wondering if it was largely undergrads or if a lot of law students were included as well. Still not clear on what these brochures looked like.sprezz wrote:just you and 18,700 of your closest friends!WahooLaw24 wrote:Can't say I'm thrilled about this SSN mess, especially since I'm apparently on the list. Re: UVA Class of 2016
there's 15k undergrads and 1k law students, i wouldn't be surprised if 90% of both of those subsets were included. the brochures were light blue or white, nondescript, the labels looked like this:WahooLaw24 wrote:Lol of course, just wondering if it was largely undergrads or if a lot of law students were included as well. I am also on the list of exposed SSNs. Thank you UVA for a free year of credit protection that I really didn't want to find myself needing.

All this blows. I received the email this morning and signed up for the credit-watch thing right after....
