There were Myron Taylor Hotties tank tops. Solid HS shirts would be sweet though.

MTH = MTHS.

That was the Cabaret theme this year.
Some people in my class designed MTHS tshirts that we were supposed to be able to buy. I wonder what happened with that.
Don't get me started. I encourage the 1Ls to do it though:

Hmm, I like the front design but I think the back is creepy.

ETA: No offense to the designer of course. It's just not my taste.

That's the best part. And MTHS, the designer, hasn't posted in this thread to my knowledge.

The person illustrated the image? Pretty sure this wouldn't be fair use...

Received the AOP invitation today, it begins August 19th.

After seeing the reading assignments I'm feeling a bit shook. Can't believe this is finally happening.

Cool.

You're in Hughes, right? I guess you have to contact the housing office so you can move in earlier.

Yeah, I am. The e-mail said I get to move into Hughes on the 18th.

BTW, have you received any information about your suitemate yet? I'm wondering if we'll be told that information before we arrive.

Yeah, check the OP (so glad I can say that now). You log into the housing portal and your suitemate(s) should be listed on your application now.

Are all the AOP invites out? I wrote a DS but I also got in off reserve so that may be why no invite, unless they come in waves.

I don't know. It seems like everyone got it Friday. It could be because you got in off reserve and they had already chosen the people to attend. I'd have to ask lacepiece since he helped draft the invitations.

Update: If you want to go to AOP but don't get an e-mail, you can try contacting admissions and telling them you wrote a diversity statement but didn't get invited to AOP. Or you can contact Sheri Johnson directly and she can take care of it.

Haha just returned to the states after over a month abroad. I did get my NetID... I had to do it over the phone and never received any written correspondence though. Is that where you found your student ID number?

Yeah, I saw that. Hope you had a nice trip.

Anyway, yeah, after you activate the NetID, you can use that to log into the to do list, and then I think it's under "Memorize your Cornell ID #." There's a bunch of links in the first post now.

If you didn't take the picture for your student ID, they'll just take a picture for you at orientation.

Also, I finally figured out how to check my Cornell e-mail, so I'll add that to the OP. And we can also set up Net.Pay now so we can pay our bills in August.

Are people generally paying everything all upfront? Or are people doing the tuition plan every month? I can't really tell if one is "better" than the other.

Upfront I guess. I don't see the point of paying every month if the loans are disbursed all at once and it's enough to cover the tuition. But I've never handled this stuff so maybe I'm missing something.

If you are paying for tuition with federal loans, you don't have a choice: The loans are distributed to the Cornell bursar, who then takes out tuition and fees for the semester (as well as health insurance and gym membership for the year, if you have signed up for those in advance; the same is true for the bus pass in subsequent years) and then disburses the balance to you. If you add your checking account to your net pay account and designate it as your disbursement account you'll get it directly deposited in your account every semester going forward.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
