Could it be that easy? Seems like there would be safeguards against that in place...ie, checking Student ID with the ticket...then again...I wonder if our WildCards will look all that different than the undergrads'...who knows...might be able to just trick some sophomore working the ticket booth into forking over free student tickets...feralinfant wrote:just by tix from all the free market enthusiasts that pass themselves off as football fans.

lol this dude's butthurt made the rounds among skers fans last year.
ETA: seriously though it probably can't cost that much to cop a student ticket or something from some poor undergraduate, right?

At NE you could sell your student tickets to anyone and then you could just go online and validate that someone else had your ticket. but they never checked anyways.KremeCheez wrote:Could it be that easy? This being said, gameday at memorial stadium is just very vaguely controlled chaos.

Your wildcard looks just like a UG wildcard. It doesn't say anything law school-specific on it, just "student." But if they're scanning cards, they'd be able to tell (if that's something they're checking for), since the cards have different permissions. I don't think a UG card can get into the law library, for instance.

Students don't get physical tickets at any point. It's all done by scanning their WildCard. At least that's how it was in the ancient days of 2011.

yeah it's sort of odd that they had both the deadlines on the weekend and it'd be nice to know. I'm moving into my place Aug 1 regardless but i'm trying to figure out when/if i'll be able to run home and see my folks at all before things get rolling.Cobretti wrote:I hope we hear back about the latham watkins schollies today, need to get my schedule figured out so i know when I have to be in chicago

Well it was already pretty settled, but finally got the official ding from Penn. That was the only WL i might have considered ditching NU for, even if it would have pained me in a lot of ways.
Can i just be in Chicago now kthanx?

I work remotely and my output has already been impressively low. But as a gunner I thought I could do less, so I just bought red dead redemption on the advice of my little brother. This should help wipe out the next few weeks at least.dstars823 wrote:Bloomsie wrote:Yeaaaaaaah, it's feeling like about time to be in Chicago. My buddy gifted me Crusader Kings 2 on Steam, but I can't get it until I buy my new laptop. I expect my overall productivity to reach zero once that happens.feralinfant wrote:I work remotely and my output has already been impressively low. I'm almost definitely moving Aug 1 either way too, but I'm trying to coordinate a few trips to visit friends in the midwest before school starts.feralinfant wrote:yeah it's sort of odd that they had both the deadlines on the weekend and it'd be nice to know. Have you guys had luck with Student Space realtors?? I ask because I'm going to Chicago on Monday and my roommate and I are gonna tour 3-4 places that the realtor recommended to use based on our criteria, but we were wondering if we should also check Craigslist to see what else we can find.

A student space realtor is helping me find my place in Chi. Was pretty helpful, looks like we are close to a deal in a pretty nice place.simplycatalina wrote:Have you guys had luck with Student Space realtors?? Cool, I think I'm going to utilize the service as well since it's free. Sucks that I won't be visiting until school starts.Micdiddy wrote:A student space realtor is helping me find my place in Chi. Re: Northwestern Class of 2016
Well, even though it is "free" they are probably getting commission and the landlord can easily transfer that money on us in the form of higher rent or something. But they show MLS listings which is a good sign (according to YoChicago, I don't really know), and after months of him sending me over a hundred eligible places until we found literally everything we wanted it was probably worth whatever unknown quantity of money I might be paying...CalAlumni wrote:Cool, I think I'm going to utilize the service as well since it's free. I didn't end up finding my apartment through student space, but I really liked the apartments they showed me, I just happened to find a great place on Craigslist. Alana really did an awesome job of giving us a feeling for the neighborhoods near Streeterville, and its helpful just to have someone to drive you around to look at some places.
