I'll be up at Regents starting July 1st as well. It's good to hear that some of you others will also be moving into the area early.
To you current Regents dwellers, how much do utilities cost per month throughout the year? I know central heating is capped at $70, but does it ever get that high? Also, how much does electricity usually cost? Thanks!

I'll be moving in July 1 as well, and look forward to meeting folks. LSATSCORES, did you end up getting that apartment?
Yep, I called today (didn't have time earlier in the week) and they said they're going to hold it for me and send out the contract probably this weekend for me to sign. Thanks again for the heads up about it!

It has capped the last like 6 months so just plan on it. Should be better over the summer.
Electricity is usually 30ish, I think the highest was like 46, lowest maybe 22.

Anyone know when the regents deal ends!? Like the 100.00 dollar off for law students plus free gym membership? I just deposited like last week and haven't really gotten all my stuff together yet!

So there was something (UCAPP?) that was able to be filled out beginning May 1st. Has anyone done that, or are we waiting for a blast email with instructions?

I haven't started anything yet... was still waiting to hear from the University.

Good enough for me...my 0L plan is now "do whatever Reg is doing"

lol you might not want to count on me for too much when it comes to loans... I'm considering taking out a home equity loan through my parents instead of using federal loans because PAYE kind of scares me; otherwise, I would have already called Kevin and been like "where is my login info to that site? I want to get all of your Perkins loans before anyone else!!!"

Speaking of calling Kevin, I have tried to reach that man for the last week! Has anyone ever been able to get in touch with him? haha I know he's probably super busy, but I really need to speak with him quickly!

Do we need to be doing anything regarding loans yet? I know they've been secured based on the fin. aid package, but when do we actually have to let them know how much we'll be taking out?

I emailed Kevin today about the UCAPP thing but haven't heard back. I don't think it's actually even available yet...I couldn't find it, at least. I'll update here if I hear anything. I'm sure it's no huge rush, but I'm right there with you all as far as sooner rather than later is concerned.

Regulus wrote:Did you all end up going renovated or just normal apartments?
For those of you who are looking for renovated apartments, they're actually only a couple left if you're looking at getting 1BRs, and the ones that are left are really pricey (one on the 35th floor for like $1580 a month, and one with hardwood flooring for $1600+ a month).
They said that they don't plan on having many more renovated units between now and September.
Also, thanks for the info 2014.

I know at least one renovated 1 BR that will be opening up Sept 1, I'm sure there are more than they let on. They haven't even approached us about signing a new lease and since most law students move out, they likely aren't including those in their open units yet.

Is there any reason to use XMail instead of Gmail? And can you change later?

One of the options for creating the CNetID is to use your social security number, so I assume that is what we're supposed to do. But when I entered my social, the system didn't recognize me, so I am confused. For me, the issue might be that I let LSAC assign me a dummy ssn for applications rather than using my real one, and perhaps that dummy # is all Chicago has on me...the problem is that I have no idea what the number is, and can't figure out how to find it on LSAC.
Edit: Found my LSAC assigned ssn and got my ID.

Their pitch on xMail seems to be security, however I am perfectly comfortable with the amount of privacy/security gmail provides me and I can also access it easily from my cell phone. I'm sure both are great options, but I am going with Gmail.

My SSN doesn't work either, and LSAC definitely has mine. So I'm not sure.

So who else can't access the UCAPP? I'm logged in and at the site, but I can't find it.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
