For those in furnished buildings, anyone know if we can store any unwanted furniture somewhere? There's a pretty useless/annoying one seater couch/chair in my lenfest apt that'd id like to get rid of.

The waiting wouldn't be so bad if everybody else didn't have their assignments already. Yeah, the exact quote was "most if not all should have their assignments by the end of this week" so it makes sense if there's a minority of us still waiting. Maybe we'll see more action before the end of the day.

I wouldn't be surprised if you and I with more complicated requests will have to wait a bit.

When I emailed her about a thing she was like, "I'm copying in Person X from UAH", but she didn't actually cc her and now we are just waiting for this nonexistant person to respond and I don't know how to be like, uhh I don't think they're going to?

I'm still waiting as well. Requested through UAH, and asked for a specific roommate (current student living on 119th). Should have been the easiest assignment ever, now I'm wondering what's taking so long. =/

I was assigned to 420 116th but I applied for couples housing. The only other people I know of who have been assigned to the 400 block also applied for couples housing.

Yesterday's Friday Features had a Q&A with Juliana, and it seems that separate lotteries are held for Lenfest, Lionsgate, 420 116th, etc. Lenfest and couples housing assignments have already gone out, so students who applied for the 400 block might hear back soon?

Realize that housing talk is all the rage these days but while I'm waiting, I thought I might ask if anyone knows anything in greater detail about the deferral process? Like does Columbia publish any info about customarily valid / invalid reasons or does someone have insight on this from previous experience?

Heard back about unfurnished UAH housing yesterday. 415 W 118th St. Anyone know anything about it? I'm kind of concerned because I requested the cheapest option possible, but rent is still $984 per month w/o utilities. Does anyone know if this is pretty much as cheap as it gets? Is it worth declining the offer and reapplying for housing, or will I basically get screwed out of any decent housing that way? The location is great, but I'm really trying to reduce my expenses.

I don't know if it's the cheapest but when I called to request cheaper housing, I was assigned to a dorm which is 4187 for a semester.

Hey! So, I was looking through the admitted students handbook this morning, and I realized that I forgot to fill out the loan request paperwork. I have a grant that I got on the 26th of April, but it looks like the Stafford Paperwork was due the 15th of May? Am I boned now?

Edited to add that I'm going call them when the office opens on Monday, I just can't today because its Sunday.

FWIW I'm purposefully not doing my MPNs for another couple weeks for an arcane eligibility reason.
