If you mean the people talking about scholarships on the last page, then about half RD half ED.

Wait, if you don't mind sharing, what'd she say to give you hope? I have zero hope, but this process has made me pretty cynical.

I don't remember exactly...maybe I'm just being optimistic? I'm an ED.

To the people being shut out of scholly:

Compelling competing offers or just general requests for more aid?

General requests for any aid. I haven't been "shut down" yet so maybe I phrased things well or something.

I looked online and they said they would send them out roughly 6 weeks after ASW.

I was accepted (RD) in February. I didn't receive any $ with the acceptance call. But I soon learned that they'd apparently stopped giving $ to any new acceptances, telling us all to check back in April.

I haven't heard anything yet this week either way. And yeah I have competing offers that I sent in.

I love UVA but I won't attend without $$$. So I'm pretty damn anxious.

Just got this email from UVA re: schollies:

Good afternoon. I write to update you on where we are in our scholarship awarding process.

The deadline for those awarded scholarships in the first round has now passed and we are in the process of evaluating where we stand with available funds for a possible second round of scholarship offers. We hope to complete this process by the end of the week and will let you know early next week, via email, if we are able to offer you an award.

While we certainly appreciate that every admitted student would like to receive scholarship aid -- and we would love to be able to award scholarships to all the outstanding candidates to whom we offer admission -- we, like all other law schools, have limited resources.

If you have not already done so, please be sure to submit your completed FAFSA and NeedAccess forms so that our Financial Aid Office can provide you with a student loan package. For information about the financial aid process, please go to:

http://www.law.virginia.edu/html/prospe ... /apply.htm

Thank you for your patience.

It's nice that they give us a timeframe, and don't treat us like NYU admissions does.

How has NYU admissions been treating you? This seems to give a different picture than the other people who seemed to have gotten rejected for schollies - also seems to be more in line with what I heard

Dunno! I think the guy who made it committed to another school and put me in charge because I was active here. Just saw it randomly one day. Just means I have to approve people entering the group, no big.

I haven't gotten mine either. I'm expecting it around the first week of May.

^^^ Well, hopefully I didn't out myself by posting that, but UVA really is a top choice of mine so I've got nothing to hide lol.

I just mean how NYU drags people along in limbo for 2-5 months (5+ months for me) with no status updates or communications, only to end up waitlisting you. I seriously hope they read TLS and change their procedures. That's only slightly less douchy than Georgetown's "We would like to give you x, and you have y time to either accept and enroll, or withdraw" crap.

Did you apply to Stanford? NYU is kind compared to Stanford.

Maybe it got sent to your UVA email address if you set it up? I think it was a generic email sent to all accepted students. Unless they gave you money yesterday already and put you on a specific don't email again list.

I did not, and sent two different e-mails about increased merit aid, with my second one featuring a competing offer from NYU...

Sent an email to Cordel Faulk who directed me to Dean Richards. I haven't heard from either Dean Richards or the boilerplate email.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
