Does anyone know where we can find the deans certification form? I just checked the admitted students website but couldn't find anything about it (other than it needs to be submitted by June 15th)

It's on this page: http://www.lawschool.cornell.edu/admiss ... erving.cfm . Click the link that says "JD Dean's Certification Form for Deposit Paying Students"tigers12 wrote:Does anyone know where we can find the deans certification form? And it says it must be returned by July 15th. But yeah, it doesn't hurt to get it out of the way early. I actually visited my undergrad on Thursday to drop off the form.

Re: Cornell Class of 2016
Hmm, looks like they're not due until August 1st. Scroll down on this page to "Federal Loans" and "Private or Federal Graduate Plus Loans." Those two sections have all the information.iMisto wrote:oooo, thanks for the reminder! Also, when do we fill out loan forms?? I never did it for undergrad and don't want to miss the boat.
Looks like you can actually go to studentloans.gov and sign the promissory notes and do the Entrance Counseling now. For the GRAD Plus loans, it seems you also have to complete the form on this page and send it to them.
Of course, I'm sure they'll also let us know what we have to do after sending the second deposit.
And don't forget that in addition to the Dean's Certificate, you have to have your undergrad(s) send your official transcripts directly to the office.

But some people were disappointed with the lack of law school apparel in the Cornell Store at ASW. And both Mother's Day and Father's Day are coming up so I figured some people might be interested.

Yeah, there are also generic Cornell Mom and Cornell Dad T-shirts in the regular store.
ETA: The Cornell Law sweatshirt is like $3 less than the hoodie.
This is the entire law selection.

The only thing more disappointing than the small selection of law school apparel is the lack of red in that apparel.

The law school also does an apparel sale in the fall with two different hoodie designs. They're nicer than the bear necessities ones but you can have one right now, obviously.Lavitz wrote:Yeah, there are also generic Cornell Mom and Cornell Dad T-shirts in the regular store.

Any idea when the expansion project adjacent to Myron Taylor Hall will be completed?
I've been searching but can't seem to find anything definitive. One section of the Cornell website designated for updates hasn't been updated, as shown here: http://www.lawschool.cornell.edu/expans ... pdates.cfm

I'm not really sure. I think at least one phase is supposed to be complete by next summer. So they'll definitely be working throughout all of 1L.CR2012 wrote:Any idea when the expansion project adjacent to Myron Taylor Hall will be completed?

Lavitz - what is cornell like in terms of facilities? I've seen outside pictures but never inside. Is it nice or in dire need of that expansion?

Re: Cornell Class of 2016
I wouldn't say it's in "dire need" of an expansion, but then again I was only there for two days so I didn't really experience what it was like between classes. It didn't seem too cramped or anything but I think the few areas where they're adding a "classroom breakout" and renovating the lobby should alleviate any such feelings. You can see the images of what they're planning here. The facilities are nice, maybe just a step below NYU. I also preferred NYU's classrooms and chairs but that's not exactly super-important. The building can feel like high school in a few places, specifically by the lockers (I'm guessing those were the coat lockers). Student lounge was comfortable, comparable to NYU. I'm sure it'll be nice when I finally memorize where everything is, because I kept getting losttoothbrush wrote:Lavitz - what is cornell like in terms of facilities? Last I talked to Dean Schwab phase 1 (the three new underground classrooms across the courtyard) was on track to be completed by January 1, 2014.Lavitz wrote:I'm not really sure.
