I submitted my appeal on 3/14 and heard back today that it was denied. Good luck to the rest of you who appealed!

Appeal denied. Chances are very high that I will be withdrawing in the near future, just can't afford NYU at sticker. Good luck to those waiting on money/appeals!

Also had my scholarship increased today. Yesterday it was looking like I would be at Cornell, but now it may be the Village! Very excited about this

Haha thanks! It's still going to be a tough decision though. Thanks for being my numbers twin/basically having an identical cycle/being a great person to talk to throughout all of this!ph5354a wrote:Ignore my question in the other thread, haha. Haha I know right! I'm glad I found a numbers twin, we're a rare breed. I actually talked about your cycle so much, that today my mom asked me what my numbers twin is doing. Not ashamed, but glad the cycle is coming to an endmoonman157 wrote:Haha thanks! It's still going to be a tough decision though. Re: NYU Law Class of 2016
Was notified that my scholarship had been increased from nil to $25,000 (total over 3 years). Boy, NYU is cheap.
170/3.86, submitted appeal on 3/15.
As a side note, I DID NOT submit needaccess, so it's not required for merit awards.

Whats the culture like at NYU? Does it feel close knit or do people disburse into the city after class. Do people have fun during their 3 years here?

Re: NYU Law Class of 2016
okay so I'm coming in from La Guardia. How do I get to NYU Law? I'm a complete and total NYC rookie. It looks like La Guardia to Grand Central via a shuttle (http://www.nycairporter.com/Schedule/Gr ... ardia.aspx?) and then from there take....a subway line
to somewhere near Greenwich Village? How much am I looking at total spending-wise? help a california girl out!

I always take cabs from Laguardia. It's like $30 or $40. I assume the shuttle is much less. When you get to Grand Central, look for signs for the green subway lines and get a Brooklyn-bound 6 train. Get off at Astor place and walk west toward broadway. Cross Broadway, cross University, and turn left on 5th Avenue. You'll come down to Washington square park. Walk through the big arch and bear right down toward the southwest corner of the park. Vanderbilt is across the street to the south of that corner. D'ag is directly south of Vanderbilt (so, right behind it from the angle you'll be arriving).twinkletoes16 wrote:okay so I'm coming in from La Guardia. How do I get to NYU Law? Take the Q33 to Jackson Heights/Roosevelt Ave - transfer to the F train toward Brooklyn (free transfer). That takes you basically to NYU's doorstop at the West 4th St stop.twinkletoes16 wrote:okay so I'm coming in from La Guardia. How do I get to NYU Law? I'm a complete and total NYC rookie. ETA - Swimp's method is not good for having baggage. You're dragging a suitcase 1/2 a mile from Astor, and that's through unfamiliar and poorly designed streets. My method is 1 block of walking, and you avoid Grand Central.

Are you going to the ASW this week? Doesn't it overlap with NU's?twinkletoes16 wrote:okay so I'm coming in from La Guardia. How do I get to NYU Law? I'm a complete and total NYC rookie. Pff, baggage. My way involves a pleasant 5-10 min walk, part of which runs through a park. But if you're nervous about finding your way around the city or will be carrying tons of stuff or hate walking then sure, take the F.JamMasterJ wrote:Take the Q33 to Jackson Heights/Roosevelt Ave - transfer to the F train toward Brooklyn (free transfer). I can't do NYU's last ASW the end of April so I'm doing a day of NYUs and then flying over to MU. They both gave me $ and I need to see both.
