Re: Columbia Class of 2016
I applied for couples housing. No clue what the square footage is. I did find this post which maybe be similar to what I'm getting:

EDIT: With utilities + internet I might be looking at $1400 for my monthly rent. Anyone know if the 1 bedrooms for $1400 have utilities included? Would kind of suck to pay for a studio at the same price as a 1 bedroom.

Requested unfurnished. I can't handle a twin sized bed.joiedevivre18 wrote:Seriously. Thank goodness Columbia subsidizes... Did you request furnished?TheColonel wrote:Looks great. The email was sent less than an hour after the "Application Approved" email. Anyone know anything about 514 W 114th? I went for the non-law student housing to save some money, so anyone going for law student housing be on a different timeline.

How do I make changes to my application?
The site says that the application can't be changed at this time.
Should I email uah@columbia.edu?

Here's a weird question: if we get off the waitlist for another school, do we get our housing deposits back?

How many of you who applied for non-law school housing still haven't received assignment yet?
I feel like I'm the only one.

Hai guys.
So I'm on an extended trip on which I have really limited access to internet, and when I do it's on my smart phone. I deposited and everything but I'm not sure what to do for housing. Is the application an online form or do i need to mail it? Could anyone help me out please?

Columbia football players are knuckle-draggers (no offense to apes). I'm bias though.Tekrul wrote:http://bwog.com/2013/05/07/football-sop ... ate-crime/

Yes, the application is online and the link is http://facilities.columbia.edu/housing/how-apply. I believe it is a format that will work on a smart phone. You will need your CUID or PID to activate the application. The PID can be found in an email that you received shortly after being admitted but is not necessary as long as you have your Columbia email now. (95% sure about that last part)voytek wrote:Hai guys.

WTF is the deal with brunch?!?

I don't think I've ever been to brunch without my grandparents for mother's day.

Oh god, you are missing out. Imagine rolling out of bed, wearing whatever you may, hobbling into a judgment-free restaurant (because, let's face it, everyone else there is hungover too) with your friends. Together, you feast on carbs and cheap champagne, and stumble three hours later drunk but without your hangover. There is no other way to do Sunday.KingFish wrote:WTF is the deal with brunch?!?

Also, lawnet is annoying me. Can we start a list here of must-do activities after we all get to NYC? It sounds like the first three weeks of the semester during the Legal Methods course is pretty low-key.

The Angels are playing the Yankees during the week of orientation. I'll be going to at least one of those games.

I'm assuming this means you're an Angels fan, but I'm definitely down for a few games. Being only a subway ride away from Yankee Stadium gives me a lady-boner.KingFish wrote:The Angels are playing the Yankees during the week of orientation. I'll be going to at least one of those games.

My opinion was changed when I heard about "bottomless mimosas".
Now I can't wait.
I want lawnet to be more of a conversation! Sigh. I guess I'll have to break down and rejoin modernity on Facebook soon. Are people talking there?ph5354a wrote:Also, lawnet is annoying me. I am pumped for three weeks of presumed drunken escapades. I think my must-do list goes something like:
- Find go-to Indian/Shawerma/pizza places
- Locate nearest source of good whisky and beer
- Hit up the legendary jazz and comedy clubs. Already went to Village Vanguard and Comedy Cellar over ASW; next up: Caroline's, the Blue Note, and the Apollo. What others am I missing?

The village underground is right across the street from Blue Note, live music with a much cheaper cover! It's a great place with awesome music and reasonable drinks, and it turns into a giant dance party which is always fun.beepboopbeep wrote:I had this same reaction.KingFish wrote:WTF is the deal with brunch?!?
