Re: Columbia Class of 2016
I enrolled just an hour ago. Since I met both my deposit and housing application deadlines, I'll be considered in the first round of review, which starts tomorrow.learntolift wrote:when did you submit your deposit? and what'd she say? Anyone depositing after May 1 will be reviewed in late May or June.

Re: Columbia Class of 2016
There's no first round of review (so far as you submit the housing app by today, unless that's what you mean - in which case my bad!).smdpnp wrote:Well, I was also calling to see if my deposit was going to be processed in time so my housing application can make it to the first round of review.
It's a random lottery for when you're given an assignment, unlike financial aid. If you got your housing app in by today and you put in the deposit, you'll be fine.
Edit: Saw your last post - I think we're on the same page. Nice.

Part of the ranking is the COL in target market (I think) so that hurts us and NYU.learntolift wrote:ATL sure isn't too fond of Columbia, they have us ranked 8

Re: Columbia Class of 2016
Its not only CoL-- they emphasize A3 clerkships in their rating system, which inevitably CLS/NYU and Cornell will rank weaker in relative to Duke, Chicago, UVA. It means nothing.
Lets be honest, if we were die hard gunning for clerkships out of school, we wouldnt have picked CLS. For actual firm placement columbia is second only to the intangibles of hys.

Yeah I know what you mean, after TLS and Facebook I'm not sure how Lawnet is that much different.cws277 wrote:I am also now on. Unsure about posting in the forum... I think I'll wait and see how that plays out or just continue to post here instead.KingFish wrote:Lawnet's working for me now

Re: Columbia Class of 2016
I think LawNet is more private in the sense that it includes only deposited CLS students, whereas the fbook group could include any accepted student, and it includes those poor sad souls who aren't on TLS (and the wiser souls who aren't on fbook, for that matter).

That NYU box in the rop right has to be wrong. Maybe they mixed it up with NYLS, which would be much more likely to be in that area of the graph?djwjddl wrote:nothing too new here, but interesting so thought i'd share.

Re: Columbia Class of 2016
Hah, I think you're right. NYLS underemployment is 34.6% and NYU's is 2.7%. I would've thought such an egregious error would be beneath Businessweek. How embarrassing for them.starrydreamz3 wrote:

Nah, it's not. NYU's is like 3%; NYLS is 34%. Or something like that.Tekrul wrote:Outrageous! I DEMAND satisfaction!

Really good article aside from that, though.
edit: oh, the exact numbers are like three posts above me. D'oh.
