Pretty good I think. At the day in the life program on the 4th the financial aid presentation guy said Jan admits aid emails were going out last week, and Feb admits were going out this week.

Jan admits got their emails last week, So I'm guessing this means they are on schedule and we will hear this week. Hopefully.

im confused acc to lsn some people got 180,000. i thought the tuition is 49,000 a year why would people get 180,000? i got 154,000 from Virginia and that was full tuition. whats the extra 30 or so grand for?

Ya, you will need leverage though. Once you get into HYS show the your acceptance and that will help (along with other schollies)

It's hard to see what kind of leverage you have... They may increase the offer slightly because of the uva scholly, but they certainly wouldn't increase their offer to a number higher than the uva scholly.

And Pacifica couldn't get Columbia to give him a hammy eventhough he already had a ruby and HYS in his pocket.

In any case, you should try just because. Just keep your expectations extremely low

Yeah unfortunately I don't have any higher ranked schools at the moment and starting to think I never will. I personally would rather NYU over Chicago but the money is muddling things. I'd like to stay in ny but not at sticker....

Also on Lsn is seems that those with ruby tend to get into a top 3 for some reason I haven't and that makes those other people less likely to accept their schollys. Maybe of enough ppl turn them down the lesser schollys will have some leverage....

i think many people with those options (myself included) will be waiting until the last possible moment to make a decision. ruby deadline is 4/15. if you want to wait it out, you wouldn't be able to negotiate until late april. depending on when your other schools want an answer, that is going to make your decision process very tricky.
