Who else here is appealing their award? I sent in an appeal on Thursday but haven't received any confirmation of receipt or anything.

I sent in my seat deposit last Monday (Mar 25) and still haven't received a confirmation email

I assume you sent a check? I wish there were a way to do this online. Yeah, I would call, just because it involves important financial documents and you want to make sure it didn't get lost.

Just an FYI: I mailed mine the same day and e-mailed them on Friday. They responded that they got it and that I would receive the official confirmation in a few business days, so I haven't gotten my actual confirmation either.

So you can e-mail or call(and you probably should since you have the same April 1st deadline), but don't get too worried because they probably got it and haven't confirmed yet--just like mine.

Besides the check/withdrawal form, is there any other paperwork that needs to accompany the deposit? They don't seem to mention an enrollment agreement of any kind.

Appealed my award as well. Was awarded 7k a year but have 75k+ from USC, UCLA, Vandy and Emory. If my award gets increased I'll likely be Ithaca bound...

You know, I never actually received the red book. I didn't even know it was a thing until I saw the version on the website. Not sure if it got lost in the mail or what, but I guess I won't bother them since it's online anyway.

They don't, so I think just the check is fine, with "seat deposit" in the memo line.

But if you're so inclined, I know last year people did stuff like this:

Yup, as an update, I received a response from Patina this evening after submitting my appeal on Thursday. Just said that she woud submit my request and would be in touch shortly.

Lavitz, the red book is beautiful, but the pages also fall out easily. Not worth the call.

I don't know, I just wanted to point out that it's standard for them to take a few days to respond. And since they haven't even finalized all the initial offers yet, I'm not surprised they're a little slow to respond to all the e-mails they must be getting.

I'm pre-appealing my award, generally what did you guy say? Something similar to this?

I love you and want your babies, Cornell, but this school offered me X amount to have their babies, and they are also attractive and smart.

But really, just basically tell them about other schools I'm interested in and such?

Edit: I have not gotten any award or email from them, but need to hear soon so that's why I'm emailing them preemptively.

Edit 2: Just saw this post from ph53 "This is my offer from Vandy, which I am seriously considering. Their deadline is April XX. Do you think it's possible to receive my financial aid package in time for me to make an informed decision?"

Send something similar to that?

Yeah I would do that. That person sounds like they really know what they're talking about

Seriously though, if you're up against the deadline, it's completely fair for you to make that clear to them, especially if it's from a peer (or thereabouts) school with money. Just make it clear how interested you are in Cornell, but that you have to make a decision by XX date.
