Luckily there are plenty of hotels in Chicago. Finding somewhere to stay should not be an issue.

PSA: The Chicago River hotel seems nice and is reasonably priced. Looks like Expedia is running a $50 rebate too. Do with that information what you will...

Just got back from Chicago. Stayed at the Allerton for less than $100/night. The city is super nice, the law school is super nice, the weather is miserable. Anyhow, I'd recommend the Allerton or the Hotel Intercontinental based on location. It's pretty easy to get around the city by car, although parking is absurd. You can drive your car to the law school and park there without issue, however.

Hey guys,
If you have any questions about UChi between now & ASW (or if you can't make it to ASW) I just wanted to put in a plug for the student contacts on the Admitted Students site. There are a bunch of students on there with really varied interests & backgrounds who have all volunteered to field questions. It shouldn't be hard to find someone in that list who is doing the types of things you are interested in.

The view's actually not bad from the library. Here's a random dramatic library shot I took last year (September, for those curious about weather):

The four pennies are strangely intriguing to me. Where did they come from? Why did you put them down on the table? Did you ever end up using them? Where?
It's that Hyde Park water at work.

I thought the building was kinda strange, but it makes sense since it was designed by the dude who designed the Gateway Arch.
As long as the water doesn't come with Montezuma's Revenge I'll be happy.

Yes, I will check out Regents when I visit again in March... Last time I was there, it was too cold to do anything...ChampagnePapi wrote:Well if you come to Regents (and pick the right apt) that will make up for it a lilreallysearch wrote:Such a gorgeous view...Regulus wrote:I thought the picture of the law school in the admitted student handbook was pretty neat, so I'm uploading it here:

Re: Chicago Law Class of 2016
I'd like to get some input from current students or Chicagoans.
I'm planning to fly into Chicago at 10:30 AM on Sunday and to rent a car so I can go visit a friend in Wisconsin. Then I'll come back and stay in Chicago for the night and attend the program on Monday. My flight out of Chicago is at 6 PM Monday. Is there any sensible way I can return the car to O'Hare at some point during the day so I can avoid a two day rental?

hmmm if your friend is in Madison WI, there is Van Galder bus from O'Hare to Memorial Union, it's quite convenient (they have service between Memorial Union and Downton Chicago as well.rehsalt wrote:I'd like to get some input from current students or Chicagoans.

He's near Milwaukee. I've been there before, and it doesn't make sense to try to get there without a car.reallysearch wrote:hmmm if your friend is in Madison WI, there is Van Galder bus from O'Hare to Memorial Union, it's quite convenient (they have service between Memorial Union and Downton Chicago as well.rehsalt wrote:I'd like to get some input from current students or Chicagoans.

Just drop it off at O'Hare when you get back to Chicago and take the blue line...? I'm not sure when you need to get it back by, or what the program's schedule is.rehsalt wrote:He's near Milwaukee. THANK GOD someone else realized this. I've been thinking this for quite some time, but didn't want to say anything. The architect definitely got his inspiration from a Borg cube

Stealing a page from the "in at Harvard thread", anyone interested in UChicago NYC meetup (assuming there are any NYC local folks here)?
