Also, for those of you who're looking to buy a hoodie, the Columbia book store was having a 25% off sale last week! I got mine for 35 bucks.

Nicely done, I'll admit I'm a little bit envious! I saw a grey one with basic block print, but I'm hoping that navy one with the crown logo (found earlier in this thread) comes back. Saving up for that plus a suit should the need ever arise!
Slightly random, but I heard CLS gives us a free hoodie too, although I don't know if that's at the ASW or upon school actually starting.
J90, I'm pretty sure I saw the hoodie you're referring to (grey with crown logo) on sale when I dropped into the store last week. I dropped by the CU bookstore again last night to pick up something to read, and the hoodies are no longer on sale.

Ok so I emailed too today, mentioned I'd buy 4 myself (my parents and sister want one) and that I knew of others that would buy a t-shirt, and the response I got was:
Hello [ ]
We are hoping to restock the law tee by the end of January or early February.
So, good news!

! Thanks for passing on the news!

I am a ED admit at CLS. Has anyone in the same boat received the admission package or anything from the admissions office other than the admission email?

Nope, Gabriella. I tried calling CLS Admissions last week, the woman there seemed to think we'd be receiving the packet early-mid February. She wasn't willing to be more specific than that, which makes sense, nothing's set in stone.
It's a bit of a weird silence, since I've got a buddy who ED'd to UVA and has a good bit more info/put a deposit down already, but nothing to do now but wait...

No prob! Haha I'm just excited and anxious to start, as I'm sure everyone here is, so if I can help any of you guys out anytime consider it done.
We should be getting some RD admits in here soon too, I'd think!

Good luck RD applicants! Hoping that many of you will be joining us in this thread soon
And I agree. the silence since our e-mail admit in December is unnerving.

I'm a deferral and I got an email from them last week about all the things I need to do to be re-admitted, so there is activity there I swear!
However, they've yet to invite me to the ASW again. Looks like I may be crashing... o.O

Haha thanks. Took a few minutes for me to accept it was real. I was not expecting an email this early on, so when I saw the words CLS, I thought it was a WL. From what I can tell, the VCE's (NCE's?) have started, so I'm sure things will pick up here.

Can't believe I'm checking in here! RD admit, still waiting on money to make my decision, but it would take quite an offer to sway me away from Columbia

I feel the same way, man! Columbia's been my dream for a while now. Hopefully it's just down to picking from two incredible results either way now for you - haha you earned it, congrats.

Checking in! RD admit
I really want to go to Columbia but also very worried about graduating with so much debt.
Does anyone know if retaking June LSAT and getting higher score could help at all with negotiating? Or is it just too late?
I've heard it worked with some schools last year but I don't know if Columbia was one of them.

Jychun, I'd just be speculating (take this with a grain of salt, please!), but Columbia's merit scholarships are extremely limited (just Hamilton and Butlers) and these have traditionally been announced along with the letter of admission. Having them offer merit aid post-June might be tricky.
Not that it's impossible - I'm only guessing myself, so don't count yourself out unless you call and they explicitly say no! - but I'd think Columbia's one of the schools that's less likely to negotiate merit aid with you post-June. What I have heard, though, is that they're decent about negotiating offers with other schools, especially CCN/even high money offers from other schools. Part of the reasoning here is that that haggling comes out of the need-based budget, not the merit-based one, which may be much smaller. So see how the rest of your cycle plays out and then present yourself and your offers once you have them!

Hey I'm so glad to see you here! I actually took your advice back in October (November?) on a thread I'd been secretly stalking and decided not to go ED. Really glad neither of us have to regret doing so

Never been more ready to leave California, and I love my state. Surreal's right.
Haha but nah, no Facebook group yet Helix, as far as I know. Do the adcomms usually make those or are they student-run (I know a couple schools set them up themselves)?

Congrats to you too! And glad that that could help...this site was very helpful in guiding me towards the decision that I made, and we clearly made the right one
Congrats to the other people checking into this thread as well! Let's get that FB group started ASAP!
