I'm sure a UG prof would let you take an exam at another time, but if you can't make it to ASW, the Day in the Life programs are a great time to visit instead.

0L obviously but it definitely seemed like 30k(on the higher end) was the difference when I ran the comparisons between NYU - just factoring in differences in both rent and tuition. You can probably spend half what you would at NYU on rent. Use the Georgetown calculator in the OP to get exact figures. Of course the diff won't be as big if youre like me and want a studio in HP while I would have been happy with roommates at NYU lolbanjo wrote:lol status anxiety is eternal. I wonder how T14 grads feel when they show up to work with Fordham LR types who are probably better lawyers than they are.Crowing wrote:I'm not old enough to have seen this originally, but this from TTH's anthology is fantastic:

UNRELATED: Can anyone familiar with Chicago COL tell me what kind of aid offer from Chicago would be approximately on par with 75k from NYU? Maybe 45k? I'm also trying to account for the tiny tuition difference.
ETA: Also, are there any good falafel places near hyde park? I like falafels.

Thanks! 30k difference seems to be around where the decision wouldn't come down to finances anymore. Tough call. And yeah, I also might want a nicer place in HP...ChampagnePapi wrote:0L obviously but it definitely seemed like 30k(on the higher end) was the difference when I ran the comparisons between NYU - just factoring in differences in both rent and tuition. I've always thought Japanese language/culture was cool but turns out like 99% of the people who take those kinda classes in HS/college are weeaboos so I was like NOPE.Regulus wrote:Actually.... yes, I do.Crowing wrote:Hey Regulus you don't happen to have a kotatsu do you? Can any current students or 0Ls who know about such things say whether a 1L living in the Lincoln Park area would be isolated?

No. You'll be at the law school a ton anyway, and if you make an effort to go to events like bar review and whatnot, you won't be isolated just because you live up north.talesofyore wrote:Can any current students or 0Ls who know about such things say whether a 1L living in the Lincoln Park area would be isolated?

Thank you Regulus. And to answer your question, check these out:
Where the JD Classes of 2013 / 2014 / 2015 live:
Hyde Park
Chicago (Covers Lincoln Park Area)
(The maps are included in the admitted student package that you will be receiving, so they should be pretty legit.)
