T-shirt is a safe bet. I'm going with a bumper sticker and something very Texan.BigZuck wrote:I'm kind of hoping for a tshirt but even if that's what it is it probably won't be my size anyway.StylinNProfilin wrote:Who else is super interested in what admissions is sending us?

Any guesses what it might be?

Everyone gets a bolo tie and a 'SECEDE' bumper sticker.

That's it, I'm spending the whole day thinking of ridiculous gift ideas from the school.
- A gift certificate to "Chicken Shit Bingo'
- A picture of a homeless person doing the 'hook 'em' hand sign
- A USB disk that contains gigantic versions of Rick Perry's official college photos
- A bat
- Tiny bag filled with queso
- Armadillo repellent

Actually it might be a dart board of Rick Perry's head if Bill Powers has any say

Re: Texas Class of 2016
I must be very gullable. Is it standard to receive additional material like t-shirts and bumper stickers after committing to UT? I know this is at least partially a joke, but seriously.... it all sounds pretty nifty.
My admit package was very small, and had nothing but an acceptance notice (1 sheet of paper), a list of required tasks to enroll (2 sheets of paper), and a fold out bullitan of recent law school news (like a poster). It was pretty shabby, probably since I didn't get a 168 + LSAT. But after all... what was I to expect (other than a denial)?

I will say that shabby packets aside, UT has been probably the most accommodating/helpful/responsive of all the schools I have been accepted to this cycle. I will take that over the shiny packets of other schools.

Totally agree. They have done the most to reach out and get me excited about attending. Just because you send me tons of nice booklets (I'M LOOKING AT YOU CARDOZO) doesn't mean I feel wanted.BigZuck wrote:168+ here, same shabby packet.michaelm55 wrote:I must be very gullable. Re: Texas Class of 2016
So did someone get a box or not? What is this box and stuff? Is it real or wishful thinking?
Also... when visiting UT, I sat in the admissions office... and happened to see their admissions packets (last November)... and they do make very nice and shiny welcome packets (presumably for very attractive applicants). They were fold - together packets (kind of like UMN's).

Ok seriously guys, nothing was in my mailbox. Can somebody please tell me what I'm supposed to be looking for? PM is fine if you don't want to ruin anyone else's surprise.

Haven't gotten the box either (in state).
Anyone know if the public education grant and university grant are typically renewed (assuming I fill out the exact same Fafsa for next year) or they are usually just a one year deal???

I got mine today too. At the risk of sounding completely ungrateful.... I don't really like the design of the bumper sticker.

No you are right; this bumper sticker/window decal thing is like the worst design. Nobody spent any time on this. I think it's because it's from the co-op not the actual universityshifty_eyed wrote:I got mine today too. At the risk of sounding completely ungrateful.... EDIT: but the water bottle is like super nice.
