Yeah, no idea how their phone and TV prices stack up, but as a cord cutter who wants Internet only, they seem pretty perfect.

Apparently I already have TV so I think Comcast for an extra $5-10 and 50mbps might be worth it just to keep everything under one provider. Since I am completely ignorant about this type of tech stuff, what kind of router/modem should I look to purchase? Would the cheapest one at Best Buy suffice? Anything I could get on Amazon?

If you're tech ignorant, there is no possible way you would need (or probably ever even use) 50Mbps internet. Or even half that.

I went for 6, just to see if I could get by on the minimum to stream Netflix. Haven't really been tempted to upgrade.

yeah very true. I have 12 right now in NC and it is more than fast enough to run netflix, play COD Black ops on a 4 bar and surf the internet at the same time

I've got 26 and it's plenty and I've had netflix, a baseball game, and a torrent (completely legit of course) running at the same time.

Just 9 more days till I'm in Chicago. I'm probably ordering the first of my furniture and appliances online tonight, and I spent most of yesterday at IKEA price checking everything.

In 3 weeks we start orientation for friggin' law school. I put off law school for years (got my BA in 2009, took the Dec 2010 LSAT), almost didn't apply this cycle (my app to NU was dated 2/10) but this time next month I'll be a 1L.

Still don't have housing lined up. Haven't bought my new computer yet. Not sure when I'm moving to Chicago.

I want to bring my dog but we aren't exactly in walking distance... he's loving the lakeshore drive trails though
