Well dang I very straightforwardly mentioned a scholarship from michigan but I don't think I was cocky about it, just said I would rather go to NU but the offer makes michigan tempting given how much ill have to take out on loans or something like that

Re: Northwestern Class of 2016
I wouldn't stress about this all that much, it sounds like you phrased it fine. I a) didn't have a decent offer like that to mention specifically and b) was probably overly concerned about being the subject of a Johann tweet.oaken wrote:Well dang I very straightforwardly mentioned a scholarship from michigan but I don't think I was cocky about it, just said I would rather go to NU but the offer makes michigan tempting given how much ill have to take out on loans or something like that
As long as you were generally on topic with the prompt you're probably solid. So if it more just came out as explaining your financial situation like it asked es muy bueno. Probably less so if it was more like trying to directly bargain.
Again, pure conjecture on my part.

The StudentSpace tour is a couple of nearby buildings. Definitely Onterie and McClurg...plus one or two others? I didn't go on it last year...if I were you, I'd go find last year's thread and see if the people who went on the tour thought it was worthwhile.bobloblawstudent wrote:ticket and hotel booked! stoked for asw!

If you think you'll be able to get up for the 8am tour on Saturday, by all means do both. That's the best of both worlds! But people do tend to go out drinking after Follies on Friday, so you might be out late.
Another option...if you're nice to me, I might be willing to give a campus tour on Thursday or Sunday or Monday. The "surrounding area" part of the tour is basically "there's Timmy O'Toole's, there's a grocery store, there's Starbucks, this is how you get to the Lake Shore Trail."

Re: Northwestern Class of 2016
Any ladies going on ASW want to split a hotel room? I'm poor from all these ASWs, so splitting the cost and making a friend seems like a good idea!
Where is everyone staying, anyway?

Red Roof on Ontario is way nicer than a normal Red Roof, I stayed for fairly cheap when I visited in early March. Also, only about a 5-10 minute walk to the Law School (tough to tell, I was traversing 6 inches of snow when I was there).

Ill try the red roof. Ideally I'd like to stay with a current student! Guess we'll know soon.

What up guys? Considering this is going to be my likely landing spot I figured I'd join in on the conversation. Trying to book tickets and a hotel to ASW this weekend. Probably staying at the Courtyard Marriot. Can't wait!

This thread needs more (friendly?) banter. 7 pages? Really? UChi has 22! This is unacceptable.

Oh boy. Looks like I need to start planning my trip out. I've never been to Chicago before, but I'm used to big cities at least.

Any guesses on what the weather is going to be like in two weeks time? Isn't it, like, supposed to be Spring?

You definitely got my username. Framboise, framboos, frambuesa - I love raspberry flavored anything and I love me a good Belgian lambic.mrizza wrote:I hope your username means you'll be bringing framboiseframboozer wrote:Oh boy.
