You sign up for those specific events by hearing about them via the list serv. APALSA is better about letting people know they have those events coming up (via law school announcements) than BLSA/LALSA. I feel like everyone's pretty much in APALSA regardless of race whereas BLSA/LALSA is a bit more race-oriented.
And then there are clubs that don't do anything, like Sports& Entertainment...

Lol. I get the feeling that the new guy will be champing at the bit for S&E, though.MischiefMayhemSoap wrote:You sign up for those specific events by hearing about them via the list serv. Perfect for S&E, because of his love for sports, and then the sheer entertainment value of that love for sports.MischiefMayhemSoap wrote:The NFL draft thread though. On the Class group page. Our orientation schedule says there's an activities fair on September 4th. I'm guessing that's it.ImNoScar wrote:There is a student organization fair a couple weeks after you get here. Also most clubs hold elections within a month or so.
Thanks. I was wondering about this.MischiefMayhemSoap wrote:I feel like everyone's pretty much in APALSA regardless of race whereas BLSA/LALSA is a bit more race-oriented.

Yep, that's when you write your name and netID onto the list servs you are interested in. I think they let the entire law school community know for general body/1L election meetings though. I wish there was a way to filter the listserv emails. 90% of them are useless. The marketplace sends 15-20 spam messages a day.MischiefMayhemSoap wrote:SO MANY EMAILS

Are you all buying a printer for your apartments? Any 2Ls/3Ls have any guidance here? Will printing at the library/law building be adequate for whatever printing needs we will have?

Re: Cornell Class of 2016
Hi All -
Is anyone living in the Novar Mackesey new apartment buildings - 106 Valentine/Collegetown Terrace?
Could any 2L/3Ls speak to the noise from the construction in that area, or has anyone moved in already that has a sense of the noise level? I am a bit wary to move in because it looks like there will be construction all year along State St. right behind these buildings. I am in DC so I cannot go take a look so any help/guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Have any 0L's had any luck logging in to the student center, or will it become available once we're actually assigned our sections/classes?

Re: Cornell Class of 2016
You can't get in? It always gives me an error, then I always google "cornell student center," go to this page and click on student center and I automatically get in. I'm going to change the link in the OP. Let me know if that works.highopes337 wrote:Have any 0L's had any luck logging in to the student center, or will it become available once we're actually assigned our sections/classes?
And sections should be up soon. Last year it was a Tuesday so I'm hoping for tomorrow.

No, I don't think so. But I've been checking it every day so I'll let you know.highopes337 wrote:Sweet, that new link worked...thanks dood!

I believe toothbrush asked this question in the taking questions thread a while back. I don't think he got a response from anyone who actually lived there. He later visited and decided to sign a lease there, so he might be able to answer this.Tenacious16 wrote:Hi All -

Tenacious16 and I have corresponded. For anyone in the future who reads this, I did correspond with people who currently live there and was able to answer the question. And yes, I'm living there. Feel free to PM me.Lavitz wrote:I believe toothbrush asked this question in the taking questions thread a while back. I don't think he got a response from anyone who actually lived there. Based on that e-mail we received today, I'm beginning to think section assignments will come out on Monday. The notice in my student center says our enrollment starts on Monday, the 12th. Last year's class got section assignments 13 days before orientation, and Monday will still be 14 days before ours.

Yeah, that was my thought too. I don't think that that enrollment date has always been there.Lavitz wrote:Based on that e-mail we received today, I'm beginning to think section assignments will come out on Monday. Does anyone know what the situation with kitchenware is for Hughes? Are we responsible for bringing all of our own? Also I know that the bathrooms are per suite but is it just 1 shower, 1 sink, 1 stall or does it vary for the size of the suite?

There will be some stuff in hughes like pots and pans. I highly recommend bringing your own stuff as supplies are limited. Bathrooms normally have 1 shower 3 sinks and 1 stall. At least mine did I can't really remember if other ppls suites were different.comeonletsgo wrote:Does anyone know what the situation with kitchenware is for Hughes?
