I'll most likely be joining you in East Lansing next year. I have a full scholarship, which is awfully hard to turn down.
From what I've read, I really think I'll like the school and the area.

That's great. Have you visited Lansing, or are you planning on attend in March?NCGuy wrote:I'll most likely be joining you in East Lansing next year. I have a full scholarship, which is awfully hard to turn down.

Unfortunately, I won't get the chance to visit until I actually matriculate. Even with the stipend, going to East Lansing would be prohibitively expensive.
So, the first time I see it will be when I move in to attend law school.

I know all about cold winters. I go to undergrad in New England, can't imagine it gets much worse than that (at least in the lower 48 states).

Are you going to visit this March? Which day are you visiting? I've RSVP'd for the 24th! Can't wait. I hope I meet a lot of cool people there!

I will also be attending the 3/24/2012 visit. I am 99% sure I am attending MSU this August, and I am really excited about it! I have been hearing a lot of good things about the school, and I look forward to being a part of it.

Re: Michigan State Law Class of 2015
I applied. Hoping to be accepted shortly; I just went complete a couple weeks ago. High GPA and median LSAT. I'd really love to do a dual degree in labor and industrial relations.
Anyway, I'll come back and let you guys/girls know. Wish me luck!

I only applied to MSU. After attending their ASW, I was thoroughly impressed. I love their approach to practical/clinical experience. However, the state laws regarding the LGBT community are frightening. I'm not sure I can move there, which is really unfortunate. I left ASW really ecstatic about the opportunities that MSU (on a 75% scholarship) offers.

Please don't let the state laws dissuade you. I think MSU has an extremely friendly LGBT community, more so than other schools I have visited.llachans wrote:I only applied to MSU. My status checkers says "Complete" after being under review for a month. I have yet to receive a decision. Anyone else in the same boat? I didn't even get an e-mail of accepted, denied, etc.

Re: Michigan State Law Class of 2015
I think I've narrowed down my choice. It's pretty crazy that I'm up thinking about this right now when I've got work in six hours! Right now MSU at 75% off is so damn tempting given my risk aversion. But I've been fortunate to break the T25 with 25% off. Anyone who knows they are attending MSU care to share their reasoning behind their decision? It's a good school that looks like it is on the rise so now It's just listing the pros and cons to make a decision.

Re: Michigan State Law Class of 2015
Hey fellow future Spartans!
After a stellar admit day & confirming some opportunities with the urban planning program (with which I will complete a dual degree), I submitted my intention to enroll and on Saturday I found an awesome house to rent near Frandor and bus #1. I need to find roommates pronto, so the long and the short:
*4br/1ba, fully furnished, two story house with finished full basement (great for tornado warnings!), WD, fenced yard, a 1 car garage and plenty of off-street parking, safe and established neighborhood
*the two upstairs rooms are still open and will rent for $375 each plus 1/3 utilities (average $100/mo). My kiddo and I will rent the first floor bedrooms. Please don't let the kiddo scare you off, we have lived with friendly, collaborative & respectful roommates before and enjoyed the experience and have kept in touch with our past roommates. There's also a lot of space in the house, so even during the winter cabin-fever season, we will be able to spread out
* there will be two cats, but no other animals
*move-in terms: pay the first month upfront; commit to one year lease
*no smoking, drugs or raucous partying (I love to cook, bake & have dinner parties though)
Anyway, if you're interested PM me. I have video of the house. We can Skype and I can arrange for you to see the house in Lansing if you are local or heading out to ASD on the 24th. The landlord has agreed to hold the house until March 26th.
Thanks for reading!
