Just read an article on abovethelaw.com sort of bashing Cornell's JD to a certain degree... insinuating that it is worthless? What gives? Doesn't Cornell only place 2nd to Chicago for biglaw?

i'm not really sure. i mean, i'm not saying you can't discuss it here, because that's not my place to do so. it's kind of just a downer, but also a really poor piece of writing. not worth our consideration.msblaw89 wrote:Where should we take the discussion? and Yes, trashy sums it uphorrorbusiness wrote:uh, i'm not sure this discussion really belongs here, but here's the article:crabcakes wrote:was this a recent article? link?msblaw89 wrote:Just read an article on abovethelaw.com sort of bashing Cornell's JD to a certain degree... insinuating that it is worthless? Where did you find the RSVP and travel subsidy form?Smumps wrote:Going to the march one! I filled out the travel subsidy form. Do we buy our tickets, then get reimbursed? Its on the status checker. Up to $300, not too shabby. Hopefully I get it since I got the fee waiver from them already and I'm on the west coast. I won't be visiting unless I get the subsidy.msblaw89 wrote:Where did you find the RSVP and travel subsidy form?Smumps wrote:Going to the march one! I filled out the travel subsidy form. Well $300 would help, but a plane ticket for me in April is going to cost $500! Just for the plane ticket! And it's 3 months ahead of time

Hey all, checking in here. Cornell is more or less in my backyard, so it would definitely be nice to stay close to home. I'm probably looking to attend the March 30th ASW, hope to see some of you there!

Any particular reason why most people seem to prefer March 30 over April 13?

I would definitely support that choice. I would also second the idea of wearing something identifying so we know who the TLS gang is.msblaw89 wrote:I might have to reconsider and come on the 30th then .. As for the subsidy, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to give the admissions department a ring to see if they'd make an exception and give you a larger subsidy for that expensive of a trip

I will probably attend the March 30. And I'm prepared to request the full $300 to cover the costs of walking from my apartment.
Also, that article is tremendously stupid.
