They received my parents tax returns on March 15. I received an email on like April 4th or 5th dated April 2nd with the scholarship and budget info. So two and a half weeks I guess?JDProspect wrote:speaking of scholarships...
I'm wondering how long did most of you have to wait to hear from the financial aid office?

Cornell combines merit- and need-based financial aid into one packageSaintFond wrote:
That makes sense, but then why would they call it a scholarship instead of a grant? Berkeley offers need based grants too, but I don't *think* it calls them scholarships.

Looks like I'll be withdrawing today. Securing a scholarship from my first choice and experiencing the spotty responsiveness/helpfulness of Cornell's offices made my decision a pretty clear one. Hope my scholarship offer goes to a TLSer!

Is anyone else waiting for their first seat deposit to be withdrawn from their bank account? Gave mine during the April ASD and it still hasn't been processed.

They cashed mine about a week after I sent it. But I mailed mine so I wonder if that made a difference.paulshortys10 wrote:Mine hasn't been withdrawn either.MAapplicant wrote:Is anyone else waiting for their first seat deposit to be withdrawn from their bank account? Anyone still waiting for the hughes assignment?

Re: Cornell Law Class of 2015
I was put on the waiting list for Hughes, but I emailed the housing office asking about openings in other dorms, or openings in Hughes that didn't match the preferences that I listed. While I didn't get Hughes, I was offered a place in Maplewood.Mr. Somebody wrote:Anyone still waiting for the hughes assignment?
Try asking them what is going on, and if there are spaces available.

I did. I know when I called about my travel reimbursement I also mentioned that my seat deposit check hadn't been processed. She said that checks are processed by some outside agency and that it could take a while. This was about three weeks ago.

Re: Cornell Law Class of 2015
Can anyone speak to campus housing?
I am considering Maplewood because I assume Hughes is already full by this point and because I currently have a 1 yr lease (I am pretty sure?) that goes through until August. So 12 mo. housing (move in in July) is probably out unless I want to forfeit like $800 just so I can get into Hasbrouck.
However, I have heard that Maplewood isn't great, or at least it isn't as good as say Hasbrouck. Can anyone confirm/disconfirm this?

Hey all,
Don't mean to derail the thread but I was wondering what the second deposit deadline is for Cornell.
Thanks!

I've been lurking for a while and wanted to check in. My lease starts on Aug 1st so I'll be moving to Ithaca around then.
Does anyone know if we get free bus passes for our first year? I read that first year students receive them, but I'm not sure if that applies to law students.
