I'm not doing the housing tour, because none of the places allow dogs. The tour is just of the three popular buildings next to campus, so if you're doing your own housing touring, it's probably not of much value.

I will be there from the 12th-17th, but I will have my dad in town with me ("not at ASW," she stresses). Just emailed him and he wants to do the bacon thing one night. I totes don't mind doing it twice (I mean, bacon), as I wouldn't foist my dad upon a TLS meetup! Or we could do something less calendar-sensitive at ASW and save the bacon for orientation as a 1L kickoff type thing.

According to this http://www.law.northwestern.edu/academi ... r/?yr=2012, classes start Sept 4 and I'm reasonably sure Orientation Week is the week before. That would be August 27-31.

Not sure why classes would start on a Tuesday, though. Seems odd. (oh nvm, Monday the 3rd is Labor Day)

As much as I love Goose Island Wrigleyville, Saturday is probably the better choice. Luckily, Paddy Long's is pretty close to Goose Island. Google Maps estimates 15 to walk/ride the El. And, IIRC, it didn't start exactly on time. I can call and check on that if Saturday is looking like the best day.
