Okay, use this link pleaserinkrat19 wrote:crumpetsandtea wrote:rinkrat19 wrote:I'm in.Samara wrote:Sweet, let's do this. If you all are going to buy it, I'll email you a referral link.I actually might buy three...one to use with you guys, and two to use with my dad when he's in Chi with me for apartment hunting (that's ASW week, but he's not coming to ASW events).

When are you all coming in? There is a tasting Thursday the 12th, 7-9p. There's also Saturday the 14, but it's from 6-8p, which means we would have to leave the Goose Island event early. There's also one on Sunday the 15th, 2-4p, but that's in the afternoon and people might be leaving by then. There's also orientation week as a possibility.

I'll be in Chicago from April 4-16th! (: I'm cool with any of the days.Samara wrote:When are you all coming in? There is a tasting Thursday the 12th, 7-9p. Also, are there specific ASW events I need to pre-register for? I mean, other than the ASW itself.

AFAIK, the only ones needing additional registration are the morning housing tour and the diversity lunch thing.crumpetsandtea wrote:I'll be in Chicago from April 4-16th! Is the housing tour useful? I'll be doing some housing stuff on my own before ASW too. BTW Samara, we should hang out before ASW as well, since I'll be in town for so long! Tmon can come too ^_^Samara wrote:AFAIK, the only ones needing additional registration are the morning housing tour and the diversity lunch thing.crumpetsandtea wrote:I'll be in Chicago from April 4-16th! I'm not doing the housing tour, because none of the places allow dogs. The tour is just of the three popular buildings next to campus, so if you're doing your own housing touring, it's probably not of much value.

I will be there from the 12th-17th, but I will have my dad in town with me ("not at ASW," she stresses). Just emailed him and he wants to do the bacon thing one night.Samara wrote:Okay, use this link please: https://www.livingsocial.com/deals/2945 ... i=53447744

According to this http://www.law.northwestern.edu/academi ... r/?yr=2012, classes start Sept 4 and I'm reasonably sure Orientation Week is the week before. That would be August 27-31.basilseal wrote:When actually is orientation week?
Not sure why classes would start on a Tuesday, though. Seems odd. (oh nvm, Monday the 3rd is Labor Day)
ETA: Also not sure why the academic calendar would be running a week behind last year, but that's what the website says.

If anyone else wants in, from the Google Doc group or whatever, click on the link to buy and PM me. I'll take care of the reservations when we have our group and time set.Samara wrote:Okay, use this link please: http://www.livingsocial.com/deals/29455 ... i=15867892

As much as I love Goose Island Wrigleyville, Saturday is probably the better choice. Luckily, Paddy Long's is pretty close to Goose Island. Google Maps estimates 15 to walk/ride the El. And, IIRC, it didn't start exactly on time. I can call and check on that if Saturday is looking like the best day.franklyscarlet wrote:Let me know when y'all are thinking of going. It'll probably be August 27-September 3. Last year orientation week was the week right before class started and this year class starts on September 4.Samara wrote:Judging by last year's, it should be August 17-24.basilseal wrote:When actually is orientation week?
Though last year OCI actually ran during orientation whereas this year OCI is August 14-24 so it looks like there won't be any overlap.

Yeah, I saw rinkrat's post and didn't bother to correct mine. I based it off the fact that last year's was at the end of summer finals and didn't bother to see that fall classes weren't starting until September 4.bk187 wrote:It'll probably be August 27-September 3.
