Mea culpa. I knew you had the deferral on lockdown, didn't know if you were going to overlook his question in your PM. I will never again underestimate you.descartesb4thehorse wrote:Brah, I handled it. OP here, doing what OPs do.UnamSanctam wrote:Per year. $70k, or $67.5k? I thought $67.5k is the most they hand out to non-Darrow folks.WhiteGuy5 wrote:70k scholly. Would it be rude to ask for more?

My question was more inquisitive than accusatory... I wasn't sure if they were changing things up... sorry if the question came off the wrong way.WhiteGuy5 wrote:Yeah I didn't know that. lol anyway...back to my original question. I'm above both medians. Is it ok/acceptable/common to try to ask for more money? Or is the initial offer pretty much it?

I agree with what ScrabbleChamp alluded to - the only higher amount they give is the Darrow. So unless you want to ask for a Darrow invite, you've probably maxed out.WhiteGuy5 wrote:lol anyway...back to my original question. I'm above both medians. And to be clear, we do not recommend asking for a Darrow invite.jfish wrote:I agree with what ScrabbleChamp alluded to - the only higher amount they give is the Darrow. Re: Michigan Law Class of 2015
Hi guys, I'm going to the first preview weekend and renting a car. If anyone wants to catch a ride to or from DTW, I'd be happy to give a couple people a lift for $20/person. I'm landing at DTW at 1:10 PM on Thursday 3/15, and will be leaving campus around 2:30 PM on Saturday 2/17. Looking forward to seeing Hogwarts in person!!!

I'll post this again:
I'm going to the second ASW, flying into DTW on the 27th around 1300 hours. If anyone needs a ride from DTW to A2, let me know. I have to rent a car while I'm there (need to find a house), so no charge for the ride as the expense would be incurred either way.

+1, I would've done this too, except I'm driving from New England so don't even know which way I have to drive. But if anyone needs help getting around town, just let me know and I'll give you a lift.ScrabbleChamp wrote:I'll post this again:

I'm going to the first, and will probably be flying into DTW. Not sure exactly what time yet (will update) but if people want to split a cab to A2 they should PM me!
Also does anyone know when we find out about hotel/roommate assignments?

If I remember right, you get your room at the front desk at the hotel when you check in. I don't think we had them before...but who knows maybe we did.Killingly wrote:I'm going to the first, and will probably be flying into DTW. Is the bus system in AA pretty easy to figure out? I was going to rent a car so my wife and I can explore and look for housing during ASW, but being under 25 makes renting a car quite expensive. My quick weekend trip to Ann Arbor is already getting pretty pricey coming from the west coast. Still worth it though.

The bus system is easy, theride.org. The problem is most buses only run every 30 minutes so you're going to waste a ton of time waiting for buses if you plan to travel around looking at houses...6thbackstreetboy wrote:Is the bus system in AA pretty easy to figure out? I believe that someone ITT said something about renting a car under 25 and being able to get some sort of a discount from your undergrad or even from UMich. Also, I think you can get a similar deal if you have AAA but I was 25 a few years ago and things might have changed since.

Check your insurance company too. Mine (USAA) had a deal where it was waived. Also, check if your policy covers your rental...usually it does the same as if it was your car and the rental insurance is a rip off.JoeMo wrote:I believe that someone ITT said something about renting a car under 25 and being able to get some sort of a discount from your undergrad or even from UMich.
