Pretty sure UVA is where I'm going to end up! I think I'm deferring for a year though. I'm super excited for ASW! Anyone from Texas going?

Just booked the cheapest hotel I could find, an Econo Lodge in North Charlottesville that is apparently only 1.5 miles from the school. Only cost $115 for my gf and I to stay there for two nights. Glad to have some extra gas money!

I am going to be looking around at ASW. Hopefully I figure it out then as I wont be back until school starts

I'm thinking Ivy. But if it seems that unlivable maybe I'll look further out. I'd prefer Jeffersonian but that seems to be out of the equation. I will have a car but I've lived within walking distance to job/classes the past 4 years and I don't want that to change. Most likely planning on meeting potential roommates at ASW/online and joining up on their lease.

When is everyone planning on moving up there? I'm thinking Aug. 1

My gf has a dog. Now that she is thinking of moving with me I will need to find a pet friendly place as well. From what I have seen for an extra deposit (maybe a couple bucks extra a month, also) having a dog is not a problem.

Anyone know around what does the average rent go for around UVA and Cville? Cost ranges etc..? Any info would be great. Looking to see how much i should be ready to spend. Thanks

If you haven't already looked into it, there are other housing complexes on Arlington Blvd. that are within walking distance to both Barracks and the school. I don't live there and I'm unfamiliar with their availability late in the season, but I know a friend who got a place pretty late.

I've been inside the Grad Center and Arlington Park Townhomes. Both are livable, though Arlington Park is preferable, IMO.
