Hyakku, great to see you here. Sorry I broke your heart with all those pictures, but it looks like it paid off, eh?hyakku wrote:Officially deposited. See all of you next fall. I'll be ordering catered Chik Fil A and sweet tea on random game days. All are welcome to partake of the chicken.
The closest Chik Fil A is about 40 miles away. But if you order it, I'm there. lolhyakku wrote:Officially deposited. See all of you next fall. I'll be ordering catered Chik Fil A and sweet tea on random game days. All are welcome to partake of the chicken.
What is MAP?planeride wrote:Bumping this question..."MAP" is too short for the search function to handle.Sammy841 wrote:Do any current or past students want to comment on the MAP orientation? Michigan Access Program. It's for students with diverse background and "social identities" coming together...learning about and accepting differences through workshops, mentors, etc... helping to building a strong and accepting LS community by becoming advocates and advisers. Depending on where you live and whether or not you have a car, you may be eating basically no fast food. All of that stuff is on the other end of Ann Arbor by the mall (aka where I lived last yearcylon_clone wrote:No Chick-Fil-A for 40 miles?! Sounds interesting. Wonder why I didn't get it? Possibly only open to fall starters?cylon_clone wrote:No Chick-Fil-A for 40 miles?! Wha...?JoeMo wrote:The closest Chik Fil A is about 40 miles away. Car with 4x4 ready to brave Michigan winters to retrieve our chik Fil a. Check.I hate to be the bearer of bad news... but there are no Chik Fil A's near Ann Arbor... unless you're willing to drive an hour or two.
Ample amount of classmates down for sweet tea? Check.I'm in for the sweet tea. Omfg, I love sweet tea.
I'm in the final push of write on, so I don't have time to write a full response. But the tl;dr version is that MAP is a Great way to meet social justice minded students before classes even start. It's nice to have a supportive network from the beginning of school. I did map last year, and the folks I did it with are still some of my best friends. Okay, back to blue booking; will post more on this later.Sammy841 wrote:Do any current or past students want to comment on the MAP orientation? Was it a good experience and overall worthwhile? Please add me to the "ample amount of classmates down for sweet tea."hyakku wrote:Ample amount of classmates down for sweet tea? Check.I'm in for the sweet tea. Omfg, I love sweet tea.
This year will be successful comrades.
Yeah, I did some searching for it and thta does look like the case. I guess it makes complete sense though we would've just finished finals around that time. We'll be in dire need of a break.thelawschoolproject wrote:JoeMo wrote:

Oooh maybe. It happens a week before the Fall Orientation and it read as if though it was supposed to be a pre-orientation Orientation, so if you summer starters have already been in classes maybe they think it won't benefit you as much?
(no idea, just a guess)

And no one say Chipotle. I like a little barbacoa taco as much as the next guy, but sometimes I need mole and fresh tortillas.
There is plenty of Mexican food here that is not Chipotle. For example, QDoba. JK there really are a good amount of Mexican restaurants with pretty legit food.ScrabbleChamp wrote:Savor Latino.Campagnolo wrote:Chick fil A is good, and don't get me wrong, I like it, but I'm more concerned about living in a place with a dearth of Mexican food.

Also, in case you hadn't heard in Detroit there's a whole area called MEXICANTOWN. Apparently, they have the best Mexican restaurants there but I haven't ventured yet so I couldn't tell you.

I've even seen an "horchatini" on some menus so you're in luck. I actually think the liquor store (which here = Wal-Mart) sells some version of the horchatini.JustE wrote: horchata? i MUST have horchata.
