They will if you have a good reason. ED'ing in that scenario seems like pretty poor planning on your party.

Lolno. It's less poor planning and more about the 0% chance I'd have at Mich RD. I thought long and hard about it, which is why I gave myself the easiest last semester I could. I regret nothing, I was just shocked that they move ED summer starters to fall start.

So I looked at an apartment that was quite nice on Jefferson near Division, but then I was told that that area is full of undergrads and not a wise place for a grad student to live. Any current students want to weigh in on this?

Not familiar with that street but you don't want to live around undergrads. They tend to be partying when we are studying the most.

TBH, I'm in the middle of UG finals and I only got accepted on Wednesday, so I haven't even thought about how I'm going to work that yet.

As in it's very cheap or very expensive? I feel like it's cheaper than/comparable to housing options at most other t14s.

I should mention that I've always lived in suburbia and rural areas. My current apartment where I pay $439/mo is the most I've ever had to pay.

FYI: You could probably figure out which apartment complexes are being used. Check this out for instance -- http://www.primesh.com/forum.htm -- but it probably isn't worth it. I've seen other properties say the same thing.

For those that were admitted Wednesday, does it say "Zero awards found" under Financial Aid on ASW? I'm hoping it says that for everyone and it is just because the system just became live today and we haven't been looked at yet for scholarships, yet.

Hmm, mine shows my amount, but that is almost certainly because I deferred and they already sent me a letter back in August with how much I'd be getting. I'm a bit worried that this is the total amount, because it's half of what my offer letter said. If it's per year, though, then they're giving me more than they said. So I'm confused and would also like to hear what everyone's says.

Never mind! It's front loaded since I'm a summer starter, so they had to fit 3 semesters of aid there. Makes sense. Sorry I can't be of more help to those of you who were just admitted, but I'd say it's almost certainly just because they haven't figured out how much they're giving you yet.

I mean with your stats I can guarantee you're getting scholly. I'd stake my acceptance on it.
