They will if you have a good reason. ED'ing in that scenario seems like pretty poor planning on your party.UnamSanctam wrote:Seriously? They'll move ED applicants to fall start? That's nuts. Lolno. It's less poor planning and more about the 0% chance I'd have at Mich RD. I thought long and hard about it, which is why I gave myself the easiest last semester I could. I regret nothing, I was just shocked that they move ED summer starters to fall start.blowhard wrote:They will if you have a good reason. I'm too lazy to look back for your stats but I doubt ED gives you that much of a boost.UnamSanctam wrote:Lolno. It's less poor planning and more about the 0% chance I'd have at Mich RD. You'd still have had a decent shot RD.UnamSanctam wrote:3.27/169blowhard wrote:I'm too lazy to look back for your stats but I doubt ED gives you that much of a boost.

So I looked at an apartment that was quite nice on Jefferson near Division, but then I was told that that area is full of undergrads and not a wise place for a grad student to live. Any current students want to weigh in on this?

Not familiar with that street but you don't want to live around undergrads. They tend to be partying when we are studying the most.sanetruth wrote:So I looked at an apartment that was quite nice on Jefferson near Division, but then I was told that that area is full of undergrads and not a wise place for a grad student to live. I'm curious about how people are planning on living next year. Are you planning on living alone or finding people to live with?

The latter. I'm too poor and about to be going into too much soul-crushing debt to not live with people.Lsatfree wrote:I'm curious about how people are planning on living next year. Are you planning on living alone or finding people to live with?

I'm in the same boat. What's your plan for finding people to live with?

TBH, I'm in the middle of UG finals and I only got accepted on Wednesday, so I haven't even thought about how I'm going to work that yet.Lsatfree wrote:UnamSanctam wrote:The latter. That's a link that was posted in a different thread. If you look at the moving banner at the top it gives you the names of the buildings. If you go thru the site a little bit you can get info on all of them.

As in it's very cheap or very expensive? I feel like it's cheaper than/comparable to housing options at most other t14s.UnamSanctam wrote:Disclaimer: Make sure to take a few deep breaths before you start looking at prices.Lsatfree wrote: http://www.primesh.com/forum.htm

I should mention that I've always lived in suburbia and rural areas. My current apartment where I pay $439/mo is the most I've ever had to pay.JDizzle2015 wrote:As in it's very cheap or very expensive? There's some new information under the Housing section of the ASW. No information yet about the reserved apartment complexes, though.

FYI: You could probably figure out which apartment complexes are being used. Check this out for instance -- http://www.primesh.com/forum.htm --jfish wrote:There's some new information under the Housing section of the ASW. No information yet about the reserved apartment complexes, though.
ETA: New for me, anyway haha
Edit: That circa 1995 sliding banner says that Forum, Packard, Hoover & Forest Place are reserved by the law school. You can look those up here: --LinkRemoved--
Anyway, you should all apply to the Phid house. Rent is only 400 a month inclusive. http://www.phidhouse.org/ (click the box in the upper left corner for a tour)

Yeah, you have to check it out when you visit. We have events on the admitted students weekends. If you come March 30 we will be having a big party. If you are visiting some other time, PM me (somewhat far in advance bc I'm rarely on here anymore) and someone can show you the house.UnamSanctam wrote:Really artsy and awesome looking, but that site really lacks information.AreJay711 wrote:Anyway, you should all apply to the Phid house. For those that were admitted Wednesday, does it say "Zero awards found" under Financial Aid on ASW? I'm hoping it says that for everyone and it is just because the system just became live today and we haven't been looked at yet for scholarships, yet.

Re: Michigan Law Class of 2015
Never mind! It's front loaded since I'm a summer starter, so they had to fit 3 semesters of aid there. Makes sense. Sorry I can't be of more help to those of you who were just admitted, but I'd say it's almost certainly just because they haven't figured out how much they're giving you yet.

I mean with your stats I can guarantee you're getting scholly. I'd stake my acceptance on it.ScrabbleChamp wrote:For those that were admitted Wednesday, does it say "Zero awards found" under Financial Aid on ASW?
