is anyone living in nyc right now and looking for a roommate? I just moved up from atlanta about a month ago, but the sublet is about to be over and i need to find somewhere to live! i'm going to be going to nyu law in the fall so I was hoping to room with a future classmate.

I just got my phone call on Valentine's Day
NYU is probably my top pick, but it will come down to funding. If they are offering money, do they do it at the same time as the acceptance? Or do we hear about scholarships later? Thanks for the insight. I'm un(der)researched in all things law school.

NYU scholarships (need and merit based) are offered starting in mid-March. In order to be considered for them, you'll need to fill out the Need Access form (or, if you only want to be considered for merit aid, contact NYU and ask for their institutional aid form, which only asks for your information, not your parents')

Named scholarship interviews are also announced starting in March, but those applications were due by Jan 1.

looking at threads from the last few years, it looks like NYU's pretty stingy with travel reimbursement. I'm pretty sure I'm locked in to attending, so I feel like it's just a question of whether I want to spend upwards of a thousand dollars on trying to meet prospective roommates. alternatively, if anyone wants to save the money and do the equivalent of an internet arranged marriage, I'm able to offer a handsome dowry (electric fan, textile factory, etc.). pm for details.

Haha, I just completed the financial aid application this Saturday, and they already told me on Thursday that I wasn't getting a dime! Makes sense because I did ED, so I'm assuming I was auto-reject for any type of scholarship money...but still sad

I thought the February deadline was for current 1Ls and 2Ls?

Yes, the Feb deadline is for current students. Our housing "priority" deadline is 5/15. Also, you can check out rates and floor plans here by clicking on the building names on the left side:

I want maybe like a lower level Mercer triple. I think I'll bid on a few D'ags too just so I don't end up with the most expensive Mercer.
