Re: Michigan Law Class of 2015
I did my undergrad at Mich, the reading room is open to all students, it does get a little crowded, but the law library proper is for law students (and those with a bar membership card I believe)

Yea, I think you're right. The video might have been talking about the open parts of the reading room.
There's a thread on TLS where you can ask current Mich students questions. I'm on my phone so I can't link it atm but they will know better in that thread.

This is correct. Your SO can probably go down into the library if you are with him/her and you just tell the front desk person that you are together.Geoffrey wrote:If I remember correctly from my visit...the library is only open to law students (you have to walk past a gate with a student sitting behind a desk) but the reading room in the legal research building is a 50/50 split between law students and undergrads/public (except during finals, when it's either 80/20(?) or restricted to law students only)JDizzle2015 wrote:I remember someone sending me a YouTube video of MLaw students plotting different ways to kick undergrads out of their library. My guess is that the library is open to the public or at least the university in general.Adm.Doppleganger wrote:Do you have to be a law student to use the law library? Does anyone, maybe who took a tour, know? My SO will be telecommuting while I go to law school, and would like to be able to work there while I study.
It's hard to say how strict these rules are because we were clearly part of a tour group

There is no security during the day. Half of the reading room is always open to the public.bannanagram wrote:This is correct. ^ Drinking in Ann Arbor. There's a post on facebook about happy hour at Dominick's on the 17th. Everyone should swing by if you're still in town.

Weren't there people in one of the threads offering rides? The school also suggested some shuttle companies (cheaper than cabs) that could take you.Killingly wrote:I leave Thursday. There was an email sent offering rides from student groups. I'll PM you about it.Killingly wrote:I leave Thursday. Still no clue how I'm getting from airport to campus. I'm taking the Michigan Flyer (http://www.michiganflyer.com/) since I'm coming in early and don't want someone to have to go to the airport in Detroit at 7 AM to pick me up.

ETA: Crap, nvm the deadline was on Saturday to email back for a ride. :/ Michigan Flyer seems like to most economical way to do it unless you can get a ride from someone. YAYYY for Ann Arbor party!!!!!

I'm getting into Detroit at 9:09am--if you'll be arriving around then, I'd happily split a cab! (I must have missed the email re: student groups/rides too).

I don't get in until 1. Leave at 4 in the morning too. Layovers cost me so much time.FavoriteColorGRUE wrote:Killingly wrote:Ohhh madness. I am getting excited for ASW. Just looked up my hotel, looks like fun. I'm assuming we're all in executive suites?

The admissions office will email you with a confirmation that includes all hotel information. We (I think all first ASWers who requested housing) got our confirmations last Wednesday.Geoffrey wrote:What hotel are they putting us in?
