I never understood why a lot pot smokers get so damn gay about their love of it. I hope there is no marijuana culture in law school, even if there is plenty of marijuana.

Everyone is getting high everywhere. Why would students at law school be any different?

Lol because they feel persecuted. Much like homosexuals minorities. Your looked down upon by alot of people, the very same people who would condone drinking alcohol, dispite the fact that most reasonable persons can conclude that drinking can cause waaaaay more potential harm than smoking (in the context of drivving drunk, getting in fights, hooking up with a complete wildabeast).

Smoking pot is so stupid. If you really want to ruin your entire life for a hit of Mary J do it. No telling who will drug test you and basically ruin your entire law school investment. I find it comical that there are people in a top 14 law school smoking pot however I wouldn't suggest glorifying it because YOU made it out. Some kids can't handle all the chemical reactions THC causes in ones brain on top of studying. If your smoking pot in law school and getting away with it...your days are numbered and you should drop that habit. lol your probably smoking crack if someone offers you
FLAME
...surely no one in law school is so incapable of both critical thinking AND knowing your vs you're.

Yes, if you smoke pot, if someone offered you crack you would "probably" smoke it too.
That is, and I am not trying to offend you, an idiotic, uninformed, ignorant statement, period no more conversation.

That's not the way we roll around here (no pun intended). If you would like to address the original question, namely, the percentage of law students who smoke marijuana, then by all means do so. If you'd simply prefer to spew ill-informed invective about marijuana's side-effects, then might I suggest FreeRepublic as a better forum?
To the OP: The difference seems to be that in undergrad, people smoked openly (about 60% of the people I knew at Berkeley were open pot smokers. Granted it was Berkeley, but still.) In law school, if people do smoke, they tend to keep it to themselves, which is a smart practice in any setting.
That's what I figured. Thanks for your answer.

Talking about things that you love and do all the time is dumb. We should all talk about who our favorite president is.

I think it just has to do with the sort of folks you gravitate toward. I have never smoked pot or done any other illegal drug in my life, and I personally don't want to be around it. So I don't know anyone in law school who smokes, but that doesn't in any way mean it's not happening and happening regularly outside my tiny rather puritanical circle.
I didn't know anyone personally in undergrad who did pot. I knew of several people who smoked regularly, but they were never part of my crowd. I guess that whole part of college/life just bypassed me.
Honestly for those who choose to smoke marijuana in school--you must be much more confident about your abilities than I am about mine. I think I desperately need every brain cell I have functioning at 100% all the time.
If you want to find people who partake, I'm sure you will. If you don't, seems pretty easy to avoid them.

smoking pot does not kill/damage brain cells. Smoking pot affects the endocanabinoid(sp?) system in your brain/body. This system is responsible for handling emotional stress/pain. it is similar to the endocrine system that opiates affects, except it regulates emotional "pain". funny how the people that have never smoked pot seem to know so much about it..

Amen, as an undergrad I would smoke every night during exam week once I was done studying for the day. I crushed my exams because I wasn't nervous and tweaking out.
