My understanding is that once you have a semester of reported grades, immediately dropping out and trying to go to law school the next year is not going to be likely. If you finish the full 1L year, it's even less likely.

What are your career goals? If you want to do biglaw, you'll probably have to really hustle on grades and see if you can land anything 3L. But you're on a full scholarship, and you aren't going to a school that will leave you working as a barista if you aren't in the top third of the class. Lots of students overcome bad semesters and do quite well in the long run, and since there's really nothing to gain from dropping out and trying to start over, I'd focus on your studies.

You shouldn't have waited for grades. You needed to drop out before grades, because now when you reapply, my understanding is the schools will see those grades.

Let this be a lesson to everyone else.

Don't have enough info on this - I'd ask your school's admission office or cold call a random schoool's admission office to see how this is treated. Call a bunch - one will probably give you the correct (and thorough answer).

That said, my gut is telling me that you definitely should not finish this semester. I think a full year of grades and credits drastically changes the calculus. I'd try to get some credible info on this before you make any decisions. Also - while schools may see your 1st semester grades, a really strong addendum could help that (not sure by how much).

You're at a t25 with a full scholarship and you think you have the personal problems that interfered with your grades figured out so I'd probably stay where you are if I were you.
