Best note-taking app for Mac users (please not OneNote)

Post by anonanonny » Tue Jan 17, 2017 12:28 pm

I've used OneNote for a little while now on my Mac, and I can't stand that it doesn't have certain basic features (like changing the spacing between lines? Spent a fair time in class today trying to figure that out...). Anyone have any recommendations on good note-taking apps for Macs with basic features? I don't want to do anything fancy: type, copy and paste things from PowerPoint slides, basic formatting if necessary, etc.

I use Microsoft Word and find it to be pretty good. I can make headers for each chapter, a Table of Contents with links to each section, copy/paste into Powerpoint, type, and do basic formatting. I think Word is pretty underrated as far as note-taking apps go.

Word. For all the reasons above poster mentioned. Word also provides - IMO - the best printing options. Printing in onenote is a headache. I would recommend getting a desktop link/sync tool for dropbox or Box and have all your notes synced up and saved in the cloud. Also mess with your word settings to auto save every so often. This way, you'll never lose anything.

Cant go wrong with Word. Come exam day its not going to matter which fancy program you used to take notes. Keep it simple and focus on the actual material and exam

I know that. I just like having organized notes. Used Word 1L year, time to go back to it I suppose.
