as a 2L, you've got like 5 more takes so I'd take it blind and see what happens

Should 2ls take it if they are in professional responsibility at the moment? Like will taking it with minimal studying (say less than a weekend) and potentially failing matter later on?

I don't think it matters. If you're taking PR now, you might as well take the MPRE. From the other thread it looks like if you just take a couple of practice tests and read all the model answers (even the ones you get right) you'll be set. Not a huge commitment at all.

Okay let's do this!
No one's studying until after Halloween, right?

Are you watching the lectures, or just going through the book? I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to sit down and watch them all. On the one hand, I'm sure it's helpful, but on the other, at this point I'm not sure I have the self discipline to actually pay attention to them.star fox wrote:I've already gone through the BarBri outline book and am working on my flash cards as we speakSlytherpuff wrote:Okay let's do this!

Reviving this thread because someone got me thinking "wait should I actually start studying for this?"

Re: MPRE November 2016
You can. It's probably unnecessary. I studied for one week this summer for the August MPRE. Came home after work and studied about 2 hours per day. Ended up studying 8-10 hours total. Had taken PR previously. I passed easily.Slytherpuff wrote:Reviving this thread because someone got me thinking "wait should I actually start studying for this?"

The max I'd do is 2 weeks and 20ish hours of studying. Just make sure to do the interactive practice questions after you go through the outline(s). They're really helpful.

I won't sweat it too much. I'd been planning to wait until after Halloween but maybe I'll get started a little earlier and just space out my studying more.
(Let's be real, I'm probably still waiting until November 1st, good intentions aside!)

Booked an AirBnB the weekend before so it's at least waiting until the 1st

Re: MPRE November 2016
Hey checking in. I did not take PR in law school - being that the MPRE is in 5 weeks, I am trying to figure out what to do.
Plan right now is just to go through the Barbri lectures and handout. May throw in some law in a flash.
Don't want to overdo it too early but I want to get a pretty good foundation before starting questions.

I took the MPRE a year after taking the class, so I'm guessing I knew as much as you.Ineedhelpplease wrote:Hey checking in. I did not take PR in law school - being that the MPRE is in 5 weeks, I am trying to figure out what to do.

5 weeks is more than enough time to study. Get the Barbri book and go through the outlines (for a base knowledge). Watch the lectures. Do the practice questions.
Since you haven't taken a class maybe start in another two weeks.

Yeah I'm just listening to the Barbri lectures on the train and stuff. Not getting intense with it.buckiguy_sucks wrote:this is what i'm doinggrades?? wrote:Should 2ls take it if they are in professional responsibility at the moment? False!! This is how I studied for the August test and failed. I read Themis is really good and the questions are old MPRE questions. Im studying from that now and supplementing it with Barbri and Kaplan Practice Test. I think the lectures are a waste of time if you read the outline and the rules with comments. I read many of the questions are answered in the comments.
Better to just get it over with once and than to have to re-take the test. Now it's taking time away from studying for the Feb Bar.

Thanks for that.. the Chereminsky stuff looks good (loved him for Con Law) - I just finished reading through the Barbri lecture outline, this is going to suck really bad.pancakes3 wrote:I compiled some study materials here:

I am debating just buying the rules and just reading through that (aprox 230 pages rules and comments).

Re: MPRE November 2016
guys study at least 6 hours and be done with it... don't risk it. It's an easy exam but it does require some studying because logic/common sense =/= ethics. I used barbri, found that going over the outline + doing a few problems was enough. good luck.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
