SERIOUS ISSUE
So i received an email from the director of student misconduct that i wa being charged with disorderly conduct involving alcholo for an event that happened in early May. Long story short, i breached my lease two months early and even gave the LL a months's notice so he coudl find another renter. He immediately sticks his atty on me when i don't pay may's rent (i told him to take it out of my deposit). So me and his atty argue over debtors prison and how they can't collect judgment and how court costs would outweigh what they would get (750$). So when I got home, i wrote scathing reviews for both the property manager and the atty. They immediatley settle with me on my terms on the condition that i drop the online reviews. After the manager and i settled, the atty emails me and aks me to remove the negative reviews of him and that he would conclude the matter at that point. The atty promised me the matter would be settled if i removed the reviews of him as well, which i did.
The next day, I called him while i was drunk and called him a shitty atty and asked him how it felt to be beaten by a 1L and achieving the worst possible result for his client (i was willing to up it to 1k- he never conveyed that to the Property manager).
So, he tells my school and they convicted me informally for disorderly conduct over a phonecall with the director of student conduct(i have to see some alcohol class). Do they have jurisdiction even? And is this not protected by free speech? I'm not allowed to insult a person whom i dislike? My school is private and is rate RED by the FIRE advocacy group
And can i sue the atty for breach of K (he was supposed to forbear from tking further action against me)
If y'all can't give advice, do you think it's worth fighting or seeing an atty over?

They definitely do not have jurisdiction. This matter is outside the scope of the commerce clause.

I think you should finish your fight over your LRW grade before you move on to this cause.

Re: SERIOUS ISSUE
Have you tried getting drunk, calling up the Director of Student Misconduct, and asking him (or her) how it feels to be less intelligent and competent than a 1L?
This is not legal advice. Just common sense.

Re: SERIOUS ISSUE
Not sure about this advice. Gifted Hands: If you're going to go this route, you'll need leverage: first, post a negative review of the Director of Student Misconduct on yelp.lawman84 wrote:Have you tried getting drunk, calling up the Director of Student Misconduct, and asking him (or her) how it feels to be less intelligent and competent than a 1L?

I was sure this was going to be a thread lock, but Nony decides to hit the return into the ad court. Can Gifted Hands perpetuate this thread for a few more posts? He hasn't shown such trolling talent to date, but let's see what he comes up with here.A. Nony Mouse wrote:You can't possibly be serious.

Assuming the OP is real, he is just as much a troll in real life as he is on TLS.
Again, assuming this is real, it sounds like you were in the wrong literally the entire time.

Sometimes when I'm feeling stressed about the bar or doubting myself or my abilities, or just need a general pickmeup, I come onto the site and realize that people like Gifted Hands exist in the world.
And then I feel much better.

Re: SERIOUS ISSUE
Well first you broke your lease, which is bad, but OK, people do that sometimes. Then you didn't pay rent and told the landlord to take it out of your deposit, which you probably can't do because they hold that money in case you break shit or don't clean properly. Then you blackmailed the landlord and attorney into a settlement by posting baseless negative reviews online. Then you insulted the attorney for offering you the settlement you wanted.Gifted Hands wrote:how am i in the wrong when i gave the property manager a months notice when i did not have to and offered to let him keep my deposit?

i did not blackmail him; he treated me like shit. the review was honest. and he gave me his word that this matter was concluded and then rattedstego wrote:Well first you broke your lease, which is bad, but OK, people do that sometimes. This is a pickle. Have you ever heard the phrase "you attract more flies with honey than vinegar?" I suggest returning to the "online review" technique. But this time, write glowingly positive reviews of both your landlord and your attorney.Gifted Hands wrote:i did not blackmail him; he treated me like shit. the review was honest. and he gave me his word that this matter was concluded and then rattedstego wrote:Well first you broke your lease, which is bad, but OK, people do that sometimes. Re: SERIOUS ISSUE
Yes, that is what I was implying, but that obviously won't work if you've already been convicted. Did the school try you in absentia?Gifted Hands wrote:i've already been convicted by school. i can't get out of this by sucking up if that' what you are implyingrpupkin wrote: This is a pickle.
