1L-outlining prior to exam writing
I'm attempting to take and pass the first year law school student exam. I think my weakness is organizing the question before starting to write. I need to outline better prior to writing my exams. I'm wondering if there is a resource to help me on this. For example, a manual with exercises emphasizing strategies on outlining, exercises, timing, etc...I think that if I can lay down an outline and then start writing I can improve. I have very limited guidance from the bar review I purchased as far as outlining (Fleming's Fundamentals). I have searched and have found ideas, and how others go about outlining, the concepts but just would like something hands on I can actually follow and test myself on. Any ideas, suggestions, comments are greatly appreciated. BTW, I read about LEEWES and since there is such differing opinions I'm skeptical. Seems that one may be useful for someone just starting but I been at this for close to two years and I'm not sure if LEEWS goes into detail on this subject or just gives ideas on how to. I would like something I could practice consistency on and can measure my progress. Thanks again.

Get this book, The Eight Secrets of Top Exam Performance in Law School. Don't let the dumb name fool you, it's absolute gold. Short read, you can probably read in an hour or so. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this book is a significant reason I aced all my exams 1L year. Your description of what you're looking for IS this book. He explains how to conceptualize your class, organize your answers....manage your time (so critical and so under estimated in importance).....just read it. Buy it now, pay for overnight shipping.

Also....I kinda don't understand what you're uh, saying. You've been at this for two years? You're a 1L? You're uh, attempting to take and pass "first year law school student exam?" And like, aren't exams in progress or almost over? But yeah, that book is good.
