Government Job

Post by JackOfAllTrades » Fri Aug 07, 2015 11:40 pm

I am applying for a government agency position in DC. Is it a mistake to reveal my partisan allegiances on my resume? They are not blatant, but easily discernible. For the record, I am a liberal.

I just wonder if government employers try to steer towards nonpartisans, especially since executive agencies are split between Republicans and Democrats.

Thanks!

No, it won't be an issue at all as long as you frame it as skills you gained rather than specific policies.

Is it necessary to make your politics known? That is, are you putting relevant work experience, or are you putting unnecessary extracurricular political stuff on it?
