What do you wish your career advising office did that they don't do?
I was thinking about this the other day. Would be useful for us 1Ls to get an idea of the stuff we should really just be counting on ourselves for to get done.

They should stop pretending TLS doesn't exist or refer to it as "some internet message boards." There is good stuff here about hiring mechanics, what lawyers do, what practice groups to consider, etc.

I don't know if my career services did this, but I spoke with them regularly, and I heard no mention of this--
I wish they kept a list of alumni who work in popular government agencies, like PD/DA offices. It would have been great to be able to pick their brain prior to interviewing. I also wish they kept a list of which adjunct professors work/ed where, so you could speak with them as well.
