Basically this. That, and obviously I'm not totally retarded when it comes to law school. Oh, and a bunch of other feelings about how its ridiculous how my entire semester is determined by a 3-4 hour test in most cases, but I digress.

I just re-read it to try and figure out how it was different than my B/B+/A- classes, and honestly the writing was a lot worse: dozens of typos, grammar mistakes, etc. However, it was still clear enough to understand, and I covered more ground and analyzed more of the outer contours than I normally do ... fwiw

^^^ that's the difference. Profs (generally) don't care about grammar/typos. They care about the depth and quality of the analysis.

My first A was extra nice. Initially got an A-, but then got an e-mail a week or so later saying the prof screwed it up. Changed to an A.

My first solid A (in a curved class) was for which I barely studied. I got a B+ in a class I knew like the back of my hand. It made me realize there was no justice in the world.

A- in Admin loved that class. A in Crim pro, and I had no clue what the fuck I was saying.

Law school makes no sense.

A in torts, which I felt was my worst class. But I did do the most studying for it out of anything and had my outline memorized forwards and backwards (closed book). Felt like it really paid off.

Then I saw median pawnage in classes I felt confident about, like civpro, and decided to fuck it all.

Mine came in spring semester 1L, but overall my spring semester GPA was worse than my fall semester by a decent margin. So I didn't feel very good about it overall. It did help me avoid what would have been a pretty awful semester though.
