Who cares...The MPRE is easy. Even if you fail, you can take it again. Go have a pizza and get drunk.

I was torn between two different answers for a bunch of them. I hate that test and it's definitely not easy.

I think we all felt the same way. I feel like I guessed on most of the test. We'll see if we passed in a few weeks. If we didn't we get to pay 80 bucks to take it again! Annoying, but not whatever.

20% or less? Thats not true. You dont need anywhere near an 80% to get the scaled score you needNeff wrote:I wasn't sure about roughly 20 out of the 60 questions. The remainder I thought I knew but could well have missed a bunch of them as well. Just wondering what my odds of passing are. The guy in the Barbri video said you're safe if you miss 20% or less. In that case, I might be screwed.

Answered all the questions and left the exam after 45 minutes. Currently drunk in South Beach. Jesus take the wheel.sparty99 wrote:Who cares...The MPRE is easy. Even if you fail, you can take it again. Go have a pizza and get drunk.

I was confident when I got to the testing center from all of the practice I did, but when I walked out of the exam, I didn't even know what to think.

Re: Did I fail the MPRE?
I walked out confident that I had failed last year. Most of my friends said the same thing. We aren't the type of people that say say that about everything. We all passed.

Yeah, I felt like I was taking shots in the dark for quite a few of them.Pleasye wrote:I think we all felt the same way. I feel like I guessed on most of the test. We'll see if we passed in a few weeks. If we didn't we get to pay 80 bucks to take it again! Annoying, but not whatever.

Re: Did I fail the MPRE?
I was sick and failed the first time. Frankly, I might have made the people around me sick too (nothing contagious, I was just smelly from the sickness). Did some light review the second time and passed easily. No one knows or cares.

Re: Did I fail the MPRE?
Isn't it out of 50 questions because 10 aren't scored? So a 35 (85) is 70 percent.

Yeah, 10 are experimental. I couldn't even tell because I thought a lot were tricky.

Again, a monkey can pass this test. If you failed, reconsider law.

if we did fail, will we get the test back to compare our wrong answers to the right one, like they did with the LSAT?

If you did fail, you study for one week at 40 hours, retake and will pass.

what if a prior conviction is a matter of public record? is there a rule for this?

Re: Did I fail the MPRE?
Maybe a comment. I would imagine this would still violate a rule. You'd be creating a slippery slope where the q of what is a public record could be a thing reasonable minds would differ on. Also, isn't it still easier for them to find out from the horse's mouth than having to search the records? Moreover, it gives off the image that lawyers can't be trusted with secrets which hurts the profession. I'd guess you can't disclose it.MissPiggy wrote:what if a prior conviction is a matter of public record? is there a rule for this?
If your q is about conflicts, I don't see how being on record would be relevant. But the general principle on this is: It's not only about protecting the information of a particular client, but also ensuring that the general population feels they can trust their lawyer. It's funny because most of the skeeviest people I know are lawyers, and outside of big law, PI and government, most of the ones I've met always gossip about clients from the neighborhood. It's generally known not to tell them anything personal.

Left thinking I could have gotten all of them wrong just as easily as I could have gotten all of them right. I passed a few weeks later. You'll be fine.

What about a lawyer who receives a $10,000 gift from another lawyer but the lawyer receiving the gift never solicited or drafted the instrument upon himself for the gift? Can the lawyer accept the gift or no?
