Surface Pro 3 for law school?
My current laptop is old and shitty and probably won't last much longer. I've heard good things about it and that it can replace your laptop, etc. but would it work for law school exams?

I should add the new device may be for home office use postgrad. I'm guessing I'll probably want a laptop then? Seems like the high performance surfaces are nice, but I are they worth the ~$1300 ? I feel like I might as well get a laptop if I'm gonna spend that much

Re: Surface Pro 3 for law school?
Any interest in a Macbook Air or Pro? I was a PC guy until I tried out a MBA when I started law school. Roughly 2 and a half years later, this thing is still running great and I'll be getting another MBA or Pro when it eventually craps out.
If you want to stay PC then I'd go for a nice ass $1300 laptop over the Surface. I'm dubious on how well the surface pro works in terms of replacing an actual laptop. Still think we're a few generations away from a tablet that can truly replicate a laptop experience.

Surface Pro 3 has gotten really good reviews, I haven't used one but I think it's worth a hard look. Why buy a laptop any more? Just get a Surface and a docking station for home with a keyboard and monitor.TLSaul2001 wrote:Any interest in a Macbook Air or Pro? I was a PC guy until I tried out a MBA when I started law school. A girl in my section said that ExamSoft isn't compatible with the SP3 (yet - it is with SP2 and SP1).
It also isn't compatible with Yosemite for Macs...
