Putting "reddit" as one of my interests?
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if it be appropriate to put "reddit" as one of my interests on my resume? I particularly like ELI5 and TIL. The AMAs are also very interesting.
I figured that for employers who do not know what it is, I can explain, and for those who happen to be redditors, we would have an instant connection.
What do you guys think? Thanks!
Edit:
So No...

Damnn, guess this shows how little common sense I had.sublime wrote:When they ask what reddit is, think of how you would explain it, and how it would come across.
Also, reddit is a difficult thing to explain to even people our age. Good luck explaining it to a hiring partner.
Aside from the typical interests I have (particular sports, hiking, etc), would "horror/zombie films" movies be appropriate?
I loved the classics as well as the more recent ones.

I'd probably just say movies. Don't put in Zombies for sure. Horror would probably be ok.

I would literally throw your resume in the trash and do everything I could to keep you from getting a job, both at my firm and anywhere else
I want to call flame, but I can imagine people who would actually think this

I'm struggling with it too man, so I feel you.
Also, there is that whole "that child pornography site" thing that some partners may have heard about.
If you want to hedge, maybe consider "technology" or something similar.

Exactly. This sounds like a horrible idea. No reddit.ph14 wrote:Consider your target audience.eriedoctrine wrote:Hi Everyone,

Would you really want to be employed by someone who doesn't like reddit?
