Lexis has better rewards that are easier to get anyway. This is where it would suck to be an 0L about to start law school, next thing you know they will take away free meals. Will this lead to Lexis eventually doing away with their reward system?

Lexis rewards are far superior anyway (and Amazon gift cards the the best most economical of all their rewards).

I wouldn't think so. I think the cost-benefit of having a reward system was just not panning out for them though. I honestly think they realize that law students really find Westlaw easier to use, so no need to further incentivize with the rewards system.

They probably realized they were losing in the rewards market anyway (Dat amazon gift card... Lexis never change) and students knew it had better features and would probably use it for everything besides farming rewards points. I dunno how many of you took those surveys that they send out periodically, but I'm sure the general feedback they got was "your rewards kinda suck compared to lexis, but obviously your search isn't completely retarded so I use it when I'm actually researching."

Bloomberg is free PACER access for law students which is awesome. Plus it has better docket search functions than PACER itself or Lexis/Westlaw.

I wish I had taken more advantage of the points systems. I've heard of people who did points stuff every day during class and attended events and shiz and ended up with insane redemptions.

I'm like 150 points from my next amazon gift card on Lexis. Anyone know a way I can get those points as a grad? Or am I doomed? I've already done all of the online trainings/quizzes that I know about.

Seriously. I log into the Lexis law school portal for 5 minutes once a month to get the 400-800 free quiz points or whatever, but I think I have used it for maybe 10 minutes of actual research since the beginning of 1L. WestLaw is such a superior product it isn't even funny.

Can you not opt in to daily points for searches as a grad? Normally you get 15 points (I think it's 15) for every day you do research on Lexis, but you have to opt in.

I thought (at least for Westlaw) that after a certain number of days after graduation that your points go away.
