Re: Drop out and Reapply
Those grades may stick with you whenever and wherever you apply in the future. If you drop out now, why go back?

tough choice
idk
if you feel like you need big law or prestigious PI to be satisfied, then drop out and try again

I don't think your reasons for wanting to drop out are compelling enough to actually pull the trigger. You're going to be stuck explaining to employers (regardless of what industry you end up in) why you dropped out of school. With your current explanations, you will just seem flaky and possibly immature.

Hehe.. These threads continue to slay us.
People considering dropping out of Law School because they didn't get A+ across the board their first semester. This is so weird.. and when did this school of thought happen? How many of the people here telling you to drop out actually did and have come back and done better to get whatever the hell it is you are dropping out and reapplying for.
Is Big Law what you're looking for? Is Big Law all Law School is worth... and all the rest are crappy consolation prizes? If you advocate dropping out... Why are you advocating that? From our perspective this all boils down to what is the most 'safe' way to get a big paying job. It seems to me that those are only 'guaranteed' if you go to one of those T15 schools or go to school in a big city and want to stay in that city.
Yet the most successful attorneys I know are generally in litigation.. criminal defense work. I know a lot of attorneys with crappy jobs too. But here's the thing.. if your pursuit into this field (Big LAw) is so sentimental that it's all dependent on first year first semester grades.. you picked a shitty career path for a Big Law job that no one ever admits that they like.
Go to med school, pharm school, or dental school.. oh yeah.. you're probably not that smart.
